It does show that, Buksi. The blue line at the bottom line shows 98 for PKK on 14th (427 earlier is cumulative for the first half of the month) then goes on and down to 18 on the 25th.

^^ Pretty ordinary really. I expect patient 178 was involved in the original entertainment places outbreak at the start of April. Hopefully the ripples are starting to abate.

Tougher measures ahead for Bangkok and 5 other provinces
The Thai Ministry of Public Health will propose to the CCSA subcommittee, today or tomorrow, that they increase restrictions in six Red Zone provinces, including Bangkok, where cumulative COVID-19 infections since April 1st exceed 500 cases.

To make sure that new virus variants, carried by people arriving from abroad, do not spread out of quarantine facilities, Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong, director-general of Disease Control Department, said that the Public Health Ministry will propose that the CCSA subcommittee extend the quarantine period from 10 to 14 days and require all those under quarantine to remain in their rooms during their entire isolation period.

Dr. Opas also said today (Monday) that the more than 2,000 infections per day for the past several days is a matter of serious concern and the Ministry of Public Health finds it necessary to tighten preventive measures in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chon Buri, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, and Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Saw this on FB of public health office, prachuabkhirikhan. Getting a bit silly now.

Note that 1 says mask indoors (ในบ้าน - at home).
4 says no dining together in family.

Note that this seems to be "helpful" suggestions from public health rather than an order. Though it does say for 14 days starting today, dated 26th.

They really don't get it do they? I'm reluctant to 'knock' Thais as the majority are very good people. However, those in authority never stop displaying their ignorance. They believe that washing your hands with alcohol gel is a must when it's undisputed that soap and water is better than gel anytime. Gel is a convenient mobile alternative.

Masks in the home with your own family! Eating separately which implies cooking individually etc etc. How do these individuals get into a position of authority?

As I've mentioned on another thread. The 'support bubble' works very well when it comes to households. You don't need to be told to form a bubble. Instigate one yourself. My family is in a bubble and has been for the last couple of weeks or so. We don't interact with anyone outside our bubble. To the point where one of my daughters lives separately with her son and she hasn't been allowed to visit in that time. Should she isolate herself and her son for a while, then she'll be allowed to 'join' our bubble. 'Bubbles' have worked extremely well elsewhere. It requires some self discipline. My immediate family has almost zero chance of infection as long as we maintain the 'bubble'.

Hua Hin may allow foreign tourists soon

https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/21 ... rists-soon

Hua Hin is ready to follow the government's reopening plan and target vaccinated tourists without quarantine requirements in October under the Hua Hin Recharge campaign.

Krod Rojanastien, a member of the committee of Thai Chamber of Commerce, who is leading the collaboration from the private sector, said Hua Hin has the potential to be included in the reopening plan due to its reputation for wellness tourism and as a long-stay destination only a few hours away from Bangkok.

Under Hua Hin Recharge plan, the pilot areas will cover Hua Hin Municipality and the Nong Kae district, a total area of 86.36 sq km with 182 registered hotels.

Similar to the Phuket sandbox model, tourists with proof of vaccination will be able to take flights to Suvarnabhumi Airport or a private jet to Hua Hin airport. They will have to pass an RT-PCR test upon arrival and must activate Thailand Plus, a tracing application before transferring to hotels via private vehicle.

Mr Krod, who is also president of the Thai Spa Association, said operators are preparing to offer tour packages. They are also working with operators from different destinations, including Pattaya and Phuket, to swap tourists after they complete their seven-day trip in Hua Hin.

If Hua Hin Recharge can commence as scheduled, operators are expected to welcome around 100,000 international tourists, especially from China, Germany, Scandinavian nations, the UK and Japan, contributing 1.2 billion baht in tourism receipts.

"In order to achieve reopening, inoculations in Hua Hin must start by June 1 and continue until Sept 30 with the number of required doses needed being 353,498," said Mr Krod.

Of the total, there are 89,880 tourism workers who need to be vaccinated.

However, success will rely on 14 million doses to be given to 10 million people in Bangkok in May.

Mr Krod said that after discussions with the Tourism and Sports Ministry yesterday, this concept received approval but operators have to include vaccinations for people in the nearby areas also such as Pran Buri and Cha-am in Phetchaburi.

Hua Hin Recharge will be officially proposed to the National Tourism Policy Committee's meeting on May 6 before seeking further approval from the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration.

They don't have a clue!

Really not worth commenting on. File it as non-urgent.

HHTel..Please don't misconstrue this as I do believe in the bubble, but how does that work if you nip out to the 7/11 etc?

40 yrs. on we will hear about families who have never seen the outside world.
They have lived in their "bubbles" since 2021.
They grew their own food from leftover scraps and seeds.
When found they appeared frightened and asked if the virus was over yet.
They were told, "yes", the Covid-19 virus was over but the 2041 virus was still around and they should remain in their bubble until it's safe to come out.

It's all about non-interaction. Nipping to 7/11 taking the usual precautions, face mask, distancing and using the gel provided then repeating when you arrive back in your 'bubble'.

P.S. 7/11 deliver! In fact, deliveries are very widespread now from almost every major outlet, restaurants and the like.

My family in the UK were in bubbles. My daughter said she was frustrated that she couldn't visit her mother just a stone's throw away because her mother and brother were together in a 'support bubble' but she wasn't part of that bubble.

There was a movie made some time ago. I can't recall the name, but the storyline was of a family that retired underground during a pandemic. Many years later, they went above ground to explore and found the pandemic had been defeated years ago and the world was a very different place to what they remember.
