We've had very hard rain, thunder and lightening now since about 0400 hours. It just stopped. Local flooding as usual. My normal weather radar site is not functioning properly nor up to date so no idea if it's heading across the Gulf towards Hua Hin or not.

Anxious to see if it was enough to wash the air and eliminate my allergies. :D  Pete

It's not arrived yet where I am, but fingers crossed we get some later to clear the air

I peaked out of my "cave" and it's pretty dark form clouds outside right now... maybe rain is coming today.

Many many evenings it looks like that but it rarely happens. Luckily temp is nice now. Still not using A/C except one 20 min session last week.

Talking of A/C, I have friend a few years older than me, he was in Malaysia on a Royl Air Force base servising the planes in the 50s. There was NO a/C there at all. They worked a split day. 7 to11 and 4 to 8

Are you kidding me? I go into my bedroom at night to get ready for bed and the digital thermometer in there has been reading 31 degrees for the last couple of weeks at 9 o'clock in the evening . I turn on the air con at 21 and push the "turbo" button and three hours later it's still 29. Even the air cons that kept my bedroom cool (well relatively cool, 25) last summer cannot keep up now. It seems hotter now than ever! Even my Thai wife agrees and my Thai dogs are lazier than I've ever seen them and spend all day hiding in the shade under the car or on the porch.

Spend some of that house sale proceeds on a new air con, mate. You are being robbed! :rasta:

or maybe some better insulation ! Thicker walls, bubble wrap, better windows, insulate inside the roof etc. You must be a poster child for EGAT - Christmas bonuses have doubled since you signed up :-)

And probably top up the coolant in your aircon - when was it was last serviced ?

It's a rental and the air con units were brand new as far as I could tell 10 months ago when we moved in... and they worked... so either it is way hotter now, or they need servicing, which I decided to do a week ago and have been trying to get the Umphol or Amphon air recommended on this forum to do but their secretary, or whoever answers the phone keeps saying they'll call us back and they never do! Typical Thai unreliable crap business.

And Nereus, I tried to call the folks you have recommended several times and their phone number is not active... another typical Thai crap business.

Possible thunder storms in HH around 6 -7pm today, and a cooler night, so let's hope this is correct.
