I've had this problem before. I'm with Bangkok Bank and their cards (I think all Thai bank cards) are red flagged. I've had to use a UK card in the past. I've helped others who have only got Thai bank cards.

I don't remember the exact circumstances, but I remember having had to help 2 friends similarly with my UK credit card.

I used an agent and was advised not to use a UK card because the bank would want to call to verify the transaction. Used a K-Bank Visa debit card which worked (passport still not back after 7 weeks though so prepare for a long wait).

To get a new UK passport. Any ideas as to car parking.
Maybe park in near by multi story and get a taxi.
Or better on site.

Regards
Can't speak from personal experience but as I recall, the announcement for the new location claimed that there's better parking availability on site at their new location than there was at the old one. I had no problem before, parking at Trendy building.

Unfortunately I can't find that announcement any more, it seems to have disappeared from their website.

There is an underground car park with two entrance's devoted to condo owners and one to mall visitors. The two are on the South.

Finally got the new passport back after almost two months - no idea what the delay was for.

Used Hua Hin Visa Services on soi 94. Planned to use Anna but in a very typically Thai way, there are two identical businesses next to each other so I went in the wrong office!

As I'm in the UK, I was asked by a family member if I could renew her UK passport whilst here.
Renewed online, posted her expired passport and received the new one in just 13 days after the application.. So I'm guessing any delays to renewing in Thailand is not down to UK procedures.

In February or march, i went to BKK, dropped off 3 UK passports and picked up the new passports 13 days later in BKK. Surprisingly quick.

Points to note :

1. I had a laptop in my rucksack on picking up the passports. I had got the bus to the airport from HH (airport to new place is quick on the airport rail link) , and i had to kick up a real fuss for a number of minutes to get in to get the passports. They said i had to leave the rucksack outside, or in my car. When i said that i had come on the bus from HH and asked 'where is the place to leave bags ?' they didnt know. In the end, after a manager inside heard the disturbance, the girl at the entrance looked after my rucksack, but they didnt want to do it. They need to have a place to leave bags etc ( i think the old place did have that ?)

2. No obvious place to do photo copy or get pictures taken in the deserted/mostly closed shopping mall that VFS now use.

3. Everyone else there was applying for visas etc. Didnt hear a single native British voice.

I also think transfer of visa stamp to a new passport is still free. At the Imm office years ago I was asked for 500 Baht for visa transfer to a new passport. I said I must have a receipt when I gave the money over, and sat and waited to see what happened. The IO gave the money back to me when they returned my passport 30 minutes or so later.

OK you lot..help/advice please...
..I'm in the UK just now till early Dec.
I need a new passport by mid-March of next year for my retirement visa/stamp due to my existing pazzy running out next Dec (so will not have a full yr,s worth on my existing pazzy).
If I apply in the UK before leaving..Must I submit my existing passport with my application form..?
I am not sure how I keep my passport with my visa-stamp for use at the airport etc before said visa runs out in March..?
Any advice/guidelines on this would be most welcome...Many thanks U.S.

I was recently in the UK and renewed a family member's passport. You can do the application online including a digital photo. Yes you need to send in your old passport. However it is returned along with your new passport.
