Gotta get up to BKK today & tomorrow - so will give you all my personal update on the coup when I get back :guns:

However, will be back with my paddle on Sunday, for the next round of torture / soaking / chatting with Dawn's mum (Hopefully) Barry's baked spuds aren't bad either.

The BIG question is -

Will both Soul Monsta and Buksida recover in time from their respective hangovers to get in the boat?

Actually I didn’t have a hangover I was in bed for midnight and attempting to awaken Buksida from his Coma from 10.30 am until 12.30 pm with no joy, unaware he had only arrived home around 10.00 am from his debortuary in the karaoke

I was about to mount the rosso red HHAD mobile and ride down around 12.45 pm then the rain reared its ugly head

Not sure if this is good or bad :? but I'll be bringing my tex-mex chilli & garlic bread too. Go well with roast spuds, that will! :thumb:

Another practise done and it was the wettest one so far. We had a full crew and this naturally made the boat heavier. The balancing wasn't too good and we couldn't keep the water out of the boat. However, this was compensated by a crew member who couldn't keep his paddle in the boat so we had to stop and go back to get it. I'm sure we going to provided good entertainment to the spectators on 3rd of Nov. I was quite soaked after the session not only by the water coming in but also by the water being bailed out. The coach bailed with a style where half the water ended on my backside.
Again thanks for Barry for the afternoon and for Dawn for the great garlic bread, you can make it a habit if you so wish.

Another hard practice today. I think it was the biggest turnout yet, as one member said "Looks like we've got 20 guys - and Dawn!" :?

Took in quite a bit of water today, due to the boat tilting quite a lot. Little bit hairy at times but we didn't capsize. Took in half the Pran, though & most of us got quite wet, esp BGs backside as the coach was bailing!

A couple of good sprints, but no times as far as I'm aware. Hindered slightly by someone (mentioning no names) chucking his paddle away. He said he lost his grip, but I'm not convinced... :P :D

Good fun, as always. Thanks for the food, drink and craic, Barrys :thumb:

Someone was up the craic without a paddle

The good ship Crazy Farang, was looking more like a U boat today - still Dave and Martin did a splendid job of watching the leaks develop - allowing our erstwhile trainer to carry out some running repairs when we 'beached' for the turn round fag break.

Great stuff - great afternoon - good food and company :thumb:

Gets better every week.

Ok, have to put my hands up - it was my paddle
Likely caused by the surprise of the sudden, dramatic and totally unexpected burst of acceleration together with desperately trying to keep the boat upright

A great day again, though, with the biggest turnout so far.
Many thanks to Dawn for the help with the catering - delicious :D

Just to let you all know that I havn't forgotten about you.
Missus and I went to Cambridge for the day today and hired a canoe to paddle the upper river to Grantchester.
That was about 2 miles in each direction and we did it in an hour - one way. I forgot my whistle, so had to resort to a whip to get the speed up.
I was only steering.
A good laugh :thumb:

Good ship Crazy Farang got some 'steam' up today.

Actualy had two good sprint sessions with plenty of grunting.

I think we must have scared the cunningly provided opposition somewhat.

Full marks to our trainer for providing the opposition and the mindgames.

Full marks again for Barry's hospitality.

A few more sprint sessions like that and we might get the opposition really scared.

A relatively dry day - no leaking bits in the boat and not so much of the wobbling as last week. :thumb:

Another fun Sunday afternoon on the Pran :D Not quite as many today, but we managed a few good sprints, and didn't collect as much water in the bottom of the boat - so we're getting better! No paddles lost today, either! :P
Our coach tried to psyche us up by pitting us against his own team, didn't quite work, as we all stopped paddling to watch them race by us!!  They had the decency to clap us, as we crossed the finishing line well behind them! :D We did well against them on the last proper sprint, though - we won't mention we had a headstart...
Good fun, again & as always, great hospitality from Barry.
