The missus is acquainted with the owner of the former Seb Neur Kalisen Issan food restaurant that was near the railway station. At it's peak many, including the missus and myself thought this was the best Issan food in town. It went down in quality (changed ownership) and then appeared to close up shop.

My wife spoke to the lady on the phone yesterday and was told that she has an Issan restaurant back up and running on Soi 80. In typical Thai fashion she didn't find out if the name is the same or exactly where on Soi 80 this restaurant is, but hopefully it won't be too hard to find.

If you find it, and think it's worth adding, please give us some precise(ish) details (name and location), and we'll try to add it to our Soi 80 map. Problem with Issan Food places is they all look the same, and rarely display a restaurant name, so we generally just walk past when gathering map information.

No not Secrets. I'm betting it is the place about halfway up/down the soi with the orange painted front. There may be some signage there but who could read it?

I've eaten in there and it was good Thai food but it looks like they are mostly doing takeaway for the working girls. A limited menu and nothing Issan Special about it as best I could tell.

the Saiboo German Restaurant at Soi Bon Gai is closed. they have a big poster on the door that they want to sell the restaurant. I called the Telfonnummer standing there and they told me that they are looking for a new place in hua hin. I hope they do soon ... and I hope in the old restaurant is coming soon too delicious something new, for that is for me just around the corner ...

The excellent Yellow House off Soi 94 recommended by HHF earlier will close at the end of this month for a 2 month holiday during the low season. Disappointing for me as I eat takeaways from there 2 or 3 times a week. Now where do I go ???

We had a meal CASSIS Bistro – Soi 88 (next to Markwin Lodge Hotel and opposite Monica's Bar.
Not the cheapest in Hua Hin but great food and we thought good value. Belgian owner and Chef

[Mod Edit]Believe it or not, somebody having a meal in Hua Hin and enjoying it is NOT news. Can we restrict this thread to its intended purpose.
