Yesterday I watched worthy champions, Ang Thong win the league. However, there are 6 regional Division 2s in Thailand, so will Ang Thong be promoted? What about the other 5 champions? Does anybody know how it works?

Tongue in cheek, but I was reading a couple of days ago that Hua Hin City were in Division 7 just 2 years ago. How do you jump from div 7 to div 2 in 2 seasons? Is promotion by the brown envelope method?
BB, wash your mouth out :tsk:

Maybe Plymouth Argyle could learn a thing or two. :thumb:

I was talking to my friend at half time who explained that there is a play-off between the teams to determine which 4 go up. I'm not sure of the exact format though.

Thanks Sabai Sabai, so depending on who gets promoted and who gets relegated, we could have a different set of teams next season. Even crankier, if Ang Thong don't get promoted, because of their geographical location, they could find themselves playing in a different Div 2 next season :?

I've just checked the Div 2 website, and I see 2 new (promotion leagues) Champions League Groups have been formed consisting of the winners and runners up from each of the 6 2nd Divisions.

I will watch with interest, and report again when I understand more.

The one thing I do understand is that Hua Hin City have deprived me of some enjoyable football by finishing outside of the top 2

Plans for the new stadium have been published . Of course it's in Thai, and I think they are seeking a name for the stadium.

I was wondering if any of you clever Thai 'readers' can determine where the stadium will be located and let me know.

From what I can gather, this flyer announces the opening of Hua Hin City's 3,500 seater stadium in April next year. The location will be somewhere in/near Khao Takiab (c'mon guys, this must be a monsterous construction, somebody must have noticed it).

I think the flyer says the stadium will open with a major concert, and you need to buy tickets now to avoid disappointment. Tickets will carry a lottery number, where prizes will include 3,000 Baht and team shirts.

I'd love for somebody to interpret it properly, or even just correct the bits I've got wrong.

If you mean Hua Hin City FC, we already have a thread viewtopic.php?f=28&t=21477 . Their 'Thai' Facebook Page is here: https://www.facebook.com/Huahincityfc.Official .

They're doing a lot of their training and playing their pre-season friendlies in Bangkok at the moment .

 Sorry, this is embarrassing, but I can't really explain how to get to the training ground. The best I can do is say go North along the canal road and turn left a bit before Soi 10. You go up that road towards a Mai Thai camp (if you get to the Mai Thai camp you've gone too far. There is a school on the left, and the training ground is about 600 yards on the left past that. Nothing special, just a football pitch and a few plastic chairs. Nothing civilized like changing rooms.

TIT :banghead: :banghead:

I've just seen the following on the Hua Hin City Facebook Page:
เสาร์ ที่ 1 กุมภาพันธ์ 57
วานานาวา หัวหินซิตี้ พบ ราชประชา-BTU
ณ.สนามค่ายธนะรัชต์ เวลา 15.30 น.
I think it's saying Hua Hin are at home at 15:30 in the League Cup this afternoon. Can anybody confirm, or has anybody heard anything else about it?

Well, nobody could confirm what the Facebook page said, so I've stayed at home. I didn't want the awkwardness of trying to persuade the military to let me inside the camp to watch a non-existent football map. All that I could find on the net was the cup draw, which clearly showed Hua Hin as being drawn away.

Yet another case of advertising in Thai only, shunning the potential Farang income.

Well, they did play at home today  . After all of the photos of the new kit, I'm not sure what they were wearing today.

It looks as though we're getting a couple of pre-season friendlies at Home at Fort Thanarat, Pranburi.

Tomorrow (Thursday) at 16:00 we host the U19 Thai National Team

We're also home again on Sunday at 16:00 hosting Saraburi.

One word of caution, the correctness of above is subject to my less than perfect translation abilities.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that I can make it to either.
