That goalkeeper exceeded the best of Scottish goalkeeping errors, which have held the record for many years. Arsenal must be the laughing stock of Europe.
a bit OTT
yes, a couple of howlers by the keeper, but overall the performance wasn't quite that bad, considering that half the team was missing :|
second leg in 3 weeks time & with a stronger team i'm confident we'll get a positive result & last nights debacle will all be forgotten :|

ps except maybe the first howler  , thats bound to make it onto a dvd somewhere :( :D

Le'Arse should still qualify but Wenger really does need to invest in a keeper, I'm surprised he didn't go for Given when he was available for £6 million.

Given has gone down in my estimations, having seen a bit more of him since he joined Citeh, but he's still better than anything Arsenal have since Seaman.

have to agree, it's a poor shout when your 2 first choice keepers are almunia & fabianski :(
given is quality & for £6 million was a bargain.

apparently wenger had a deadline offer for sorensen turned down, decent keeper but not really top class, but better than what we have at present.
i suppose it shows he thinks it's a priority position to fill :? :|

fabianski could be a decent keeper but he is just a bag of nerves.
saying that, gomez for the spuds was of the same nervous disposition & now look at him.
i think he's currently one of the best in the prem  :D

Does anyone know whether Arsenal reluctant to strengthening the team is due to the cost of building the Emirates Stadium?

If not Given then maybe they should go for the guy who he replaced at Citeh.....Hart ??
He's only on loan at Birmingham and the best young keeper in the country.
I'd certainly take him to the World Cup,along with Robinson, and either James or Green (not much of a choice with the last two).
And,by the way, great win for United against AC Milan in the San Siro which seems to have gone largely un-noticed for some reason !

Arsenal 5

Porto 0

and a hattrick for Bendtner! He played very well already against Burnley although he missed his chances then but if a striker keeps being there he will sooner or later score goals.

At least we don't get to play in the losers league!

We wuz mugged. Usual spoiling tactics from the Italians in the 1st half disrupted our game and we never really got going. Should have had a couple of penalties though. But apart from that the Italians get my grudging praise. God help us if such tactics enable them to wiin the thing though.

Still puzzling how Drogs retaliation a micro-second after being fouled off the ball in the penalty area when the ball was elsewhere, was seen by the ref but not the original foul. Still, we're used to that at the Bridge in europe.

Yeah right, it's a European trophy at the end of the day.

Gotta feel for big JT. Top fella, took defeat with grace - class act.

Spare me this crap - just look at your own Captain. V sign to the ref one week, whacks a guy the next. But he's the sainted Gerrard who can do no wrong. Yeah right, JT was a bit hacked off at the ref, not surprising really. I would be too, in fact I still am.
