I don't really know. The only music radio station I've listened to in the last few years is Classic FM, when I'm in the mood, and the banal chitchat is kept to a minimum. I use Alexa quite a lot (using a handy text to voice app since I lost my larynx) and Youtube.404cameljockey wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 7:38 am Strangely I enjoy the nostalgia of occasional ads, and no DJs, just music. I believe music radio in the UK now is 80pct ads and chattering DJs and bit of music in between?

Yes I think 'oldies stations' are a different breed and not my preference ever. For nostalgia I will always switch to (free) Spotify to satisfy my cravings.dtaai-maai wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 1:55 pmI don't really know. If you like to keep up with recent trends than mainstream music radio is a washout. An as far as offbeat/real cutting edge then the days of late night John Peel are long, long gone.

OK, not a particular group, artist or song, BUT I've recently been introduced to "Boom Radio", a UK station no doubt also available in Thailand as well as worldwide through the Internet.
Perhaps too "oldie" for lost et al
, but some cracking music spanning the ages...

Had never heard of this guy previously, but do love this song.... Lyrics are absolute gibberish, but apparently the "song" was simply designed to sound like "American Music" popular at the time in Italy by mostly non-"American" speaking Italians!!
Oh, I got it from a Poretti Beer advert..
