Need Someone To Draw House Plans

Post by JimmyGreaves »

Anyone know of someone who can sit down with the missus (thai) and put together some house plans for her that will be accepted by the orbator at reasonable cost. Hua Hin / Pranburi / Cha Am areas all ok.

JG, maybe you are looking for something unique.

However, have I not read on this forum that you can wander around the local area and find a house that you like. You then take the address to the Tassebann, and they will sell you a copy of the house plans very cheaply.

That is my understanding, and I'd be interested if to know if I'm wrong.

If its not an option, or you are looking for something unique, please accept my apologies for hijacking your thread so early on.

Hi Jimmy,

Here's a Thai archictect/engineer who works on his own and is reasonably cheap. He hasn't done house drawings for us but has our friend and he seems to know his way round the Tessabahn and Orbator in our area. He's done engineering work and smaller drawings for us and was spot on. Joe 08-40222207.

You might find this website helpful, some house designs with free download architect 'pre-approved' drawings. I do not know the authenticity of these drawings, anyone using it should get them checked out first.
http://www.crossy.co.uk/Thai_House_Plans/ Admin if this link is not allowed I apologise and please remove, I can PM it to Jimmy. The website is nothing to do with me and it's totally free so there's no financial gain for them.

Good luck,

SJ

Interesting BB, hopefully someone on here will know, bit unfair on someone who has paid a fortune for a one-off design and anyone can copy it, but that's life.
The Tessabahn does have a section where they have pre-approved, off the shelf house designs and plans to go. Which looks like what the website linked in post above contains.

SJ, you're probably right. I expect that it is a misunderstanding on my part. I must admit, I always thought my understanding was a bit unfair, but TIT.

I can’t find the thread but someone definitely posted on here that you can purchase the plan of any existing house from the Tessabahn, and I think 6000bt was mentioned.
I would certainly be interested in finding out as I need some plans myself.
Unless you specifically desire a unique house it seems to be the way to go as I know there are people around charging far more than that just to produce a plan of a normal house.
I just need a plan for a two bedroom bungalow and I will have a look at the link SJ has provided as I don’t want anything fancy.
Incidentally our house in Nong Ki which is outside of any planning authority was quite literally sketched on the back of an envelope with the collaboration of the builder and seemed to have been built by eye without reference to any plans whatsoever.

Thanks for that Steve, I knew that I had read it here somewhere. As you say, it would be good if somebody could confirm (or rubbish) what I said, with a few links etc.

Maybe this is a good example of, 'You shouldn't just believe everything that you read on an open web forum.'

Greavsie,

Just a suggestion here. Why don't you and the missus sit down and design the thing yourself with Visio (floor plans only) or a full blown PC package from Satakurn Square.

I have done that in the past and the finished article was good enough for builders to work from.

You may have to get an expert to tart the end product up to present the the Tessabahn. This way you will get exactly what you want.

A local builder will probably give you a boiler plate design for less than 6,000 Baht.

Good Luck with it anyway.
