Couldn't agree with you more. Bradley Smith looked quite sexy in his leathers and handling the bike with a kind of macho aggression. I fell off my chair (hysterically laughing) when I saw him in the post-race interview. His voice has hardly broken, and he has the 'unfortunate' colouring of extremely pale skin and red hair. Poor lad - I bet he got teased at school.

Sorry Mr. Shankly, neither football nor any sport is a matter of life or death - unless you were thrown to the lions...

And I do have my favourite bikes: British - Triumph, and Japanese - Kawasaki. This is my brother's latest.

That is precisely what he said
'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death.
I'm very disappointed with that attitude.
I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.

American football is that the game where they wear so much protective gear they look like armoured robots and after the ball has been played they have a committe meeting.
They would not stand the pace in Rugby that is a mans game
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

Gotta say that the guys playing American Football take some fearful hits, i reckon they have more early retirements than Rugby guys.

Respect to em all i say!

Fierce some hits. 18 stone or more running at you wearing a armoured helmet would be hard, but not as hard as rugby that is the hardest of all. The games not so many fierce some hits, but look at the scrums and rucks, punches, feet everything flying, where as in football tap in the leg you lay dying for 30 seconds after rolling over 3 times then suddenly you are ok. bunch of nancies.

why do you people insist on comparing 2 completely different sports?? They are both good sports, can we leave it at that???

I think they are compared because rugby fans see their sport as a true test of courage and sportsmanship. Wheras football does contain a lot of cheating and is soooooo overpaid. Have you seen the discraceful way they treat the ref!!!!!! In rugby they call him sir and respect his decision even if they dissagree. Its just a fairer game. Football just makes me scream at the telly 'bloody hell how can that be a free kick' when on the replay the defender's foot was 6" away from the attackers shin when he threw himself on the ground and acted as if he had been shot by a sniper from the stands.....

Cowtown the reason for comparing sports is the influence they have on the youth of today.
It is interesting that the overpaid footballers throw histrionics even if the ref makes a good decision.
Rugby, cricket, snooker, and many other sports respect is shown to the ref. When you see a 6ft 6 inch 20stone rugby player stood in front of the ref agreeing with him when being rebuked that is sportsmanship
These people are idols to some kids and they follow and copy what they do.
Also I would love to see a better range of sport shown on UBC. Instead of showing repeats of old football matches, show a bigger variation of sports from different countries. The other night they had the same repeat match on 2 different channels. :banghead: :cuss:

Yes, I agree Moto GP is one of the most entertaining and exciting championships.

Bikes still very much in my blood, I up in Yorkshire on the edge of the Peak district which me and my old Triumph Twin enjoyed very much.

I have also enjoyed biking in Northern Thailand; Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai area before all the roads were turned into highways

I've been tempted in here London someone I know selling a Triumph 'Saint' but it's not the same here...just too busy

An interesting read here about the 'new kid on the block' James Toseland.

Just hope that he doesn't damage those precious piano fingers too much...
