New Boss and Coach at Man City

Post by terry+carmen »

Sven-Goran Eriksson has been officially appointed as the new manager of Manchester City on a three-year contract after Thaksin Shinawatra completed his takeover of the club.

The former England coach has been linked with the post for several weeks but his appointment hinged on the former Thai Prime Minister being successful with in his buyout.

Shinawatra achieved that today when he increased his shareholding in the club to 74.03%, marginally short of the 75% mark he needs to de-list the company from the Stock Exchange, but enough to give him effective control of the club.

Bernard never lived on the Isle of Man, though he did come over every year to do a show during TT fortnight.

Bernard lived on Mainway, off Manchester New Road, Alkrington, Middleton - which is the road that I used to live on (where my Mother lived) and where I stay when I go back to Manchester.

Impressive, but for those of us who don't read Thai, would you care to expand? Hold on - Monday... yellow... let me guess: Long Live HM?

Wouldn't surprise me at all, the guy still has a lot of popular (if not terribly well informed) support here, and it would be aimed at the Thai tv audience.

Its a joke.

Do you really think Man City are going to start playing Premier league football in yellow shirts with Thai Script because Thaksin is the chairman.

I think you will find that as long as he had played more than 75% of the last 2 years internnational fixtures for te National Team, he will have no problem getting a permit.
Everton had a problem signing Yakubu from Middlesborough but appealed when it was refused and was succesful.

So cannot see any problem with him signing if he has been playing for the Tha national side.

Chant of the season so far, from Man City fans to the tune of The Proclaimers' "500 miles".

"Oh you can freeze 500 million, and you can freeze 500 more, Cos Thaksin's got another billion underneath his bedroom floor, SHIN-A-WATRA SHIN-A-WATRA!"
