Wonderful indeed to see Mercedes on the Podium (x 2) and an incredible race from both... Pity the Dire Dutchman also gained a Podium and points (Ho Hum   ).

Would be interesting to see/hear opinions from "parhandy" and yourself regarding the Madrid or "MADring" circuit... Oh, and best places to get a Self Catering place there next year!! :thumb:
It makes you (well me anyway) wonder what LH would be doing if he’d stayed with Mercedes?

It's that time again - Round 11 and to the "Red Bull Ring" and the Austrian GP. Short, fast and demanding with 3 DRS Zones, it's historically been a very good hunting ground for Crashappen. Dry weather and high track temperatures expected for the Race Weekend.

It’s a bit difficult to sound intelligent about the Madring (or anything else…) because it still hasn’t been totally finalised, but from what we’ve all see so far, it could be truly good. Let’s hope it is. The downside of it is that it is based on the IFEMA exhibition centre, which is a hugely boring lump of concrete in a hugely boring suburb of Madrid (think NEC Birmingham, or IMPACT Arena in Bangkok), but of course that shouldn’t have any bearing on the race. There are some banked corners and other interesting bits and pieces, so it does have a lot of potential. We shall just have to wait and see. Will we be there? I very much doubt it. F1 in Bangkok in ’28? See you there!

P.

P.S. Self-catering place there? Come and stay with us. Only problem is the 600 kms commute to the race…

Great race today, probably the best of the season so far. There was only one real battle for the lead, and that was between the McLaren teammates, Very exciting and good on the team letting them fight it out. The other highlight for me was Verstappen being shunted off in the first lap. Karma.

Couldn't have put it better (though there were other battles) :thumb:

Though I must admit Crashappen (despite his initial outburst over Team Radio) was actually magnanimous with regard to Antonelli's clear misjudgement when taking the Dire (for this week only) Dutchman out. Antonelli (who apologised and took responsibility immediately for the incident) gets a dissevered 3 Place Grid Penalty for next week's "BRITISH GP" - Possibly a point or two on his license.

There truly was some great racing today - McLaren were way in front obviously, but that didn't stop them racing and it was quite something. Russell vs Hamilton, another great battle and the Scuderia had a great Race in the end, Poor from Williams, another dark day for Red Bull's Tsunoda, but Lawson comes from nowhere..... A totally bizarre Race!!

Anywho, for the HHF/Superbru Prediction League Table: -

Congrats to Bamboo Grove on the Yellow Cap - who jumps ahead of Parahandy in the table. Big Boy takes the dreaded "Wooden Spoon" this round.

I think Ray Charles would have been a better option for the 2nd seat at Aston Martin and Reginald Molehusband ( admit if you remember the public service commercial) over at Red Bullpoo. Found a clip of Yuki Tsunodas old driving instructor

This weekend takes us to Silverstone and the British GP :thumb: Of course biased, but this is a hell of a track and one of the fastest on the F1 circuit. It's high speed corners also make it tough on tyres, though lower temperatures forecast for this weekend may help. Also a chance of showers during qualifying and main race.

I love Silverstone and it didn't disappoint this year - it should be given "Permanent Status" on the F1 Calendar in my book. How can you not love this race - incredibly fast track, tight and also sweeping fast corners, unpredictable winds and weather with it being on an old airfield (higher plateau)..... Of course, there'll be some who disagree as they simply don't understand or enjoy the sport!

This race had it all and Tyre Selection and Set-up came into its own. Red BS and Crashappen looked for lower Downforce during Qualifying and that gave him Pole.. Unfortunately, the weather and forced tyre changes didn't suit....

Anywho. Massive win for Norris - Piastri will be pissed off with his 10 sec Penalty and quite rightly, but ultimately it pissed off Crashappen that much that the Dire Dutchman put too much power on and spun..... (I did giggle somewhat - politely of course).

Pissed off that Lewis didn't get on the Podium (tactics at Ferrari are questionable to say the least), Leclerc finishes P14 with the added error on his part, but HUGE HAND for "The Hulk" finishing P3 from P18!! His first Podium Finish in 239 F1 Starts!

Keep your eyes on Ollie Bearman...

Well, with it being somewhat of an unpredictable race, only 1 point separates Top to Bottom for this Round!! Parahandy is awarded the Yellow Cap purely out of sympathy for his loss of the "Dire One" Bamboo Grove unfortunately takes the dreaded Wooden Spoon...

It was a fun race to watch, best so far this season. I agree about Silverstone. I would say the Crown Jewel of all circuits.
