5 years? I've had suits that I wore nightly for more than 5 yrs. and they still held their shape.ahandpatsy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 3:53 am From my experience Mikes suits last 5 years cheaper places are out of shape after 1. Take your pick. Mikes still in wardrobe x 3. The other 2 in bin
Too bad Hong Kong is finished.
I've also had good suits made in Seoul.

Well-made suits are never old. Aside from that, I no longer wear nor own a suit and haven't had one in nearly 9 years. You may now stop banging your head against the wall.ahandpatsy wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 8:12 pmAnd now 7 years and counting. Looking to get a mens linen suit made to measure in Hua Hin, any recomendations would be appreciated.
Re: Best Hua Hin tailors?
Read many good recommendations about this tailor. Maybe you could give it a try.

Re: Best Hua Hin tailors?
General tailoring, not about suits:
I used Mike and Co (for ladies and 'gentle men') a while back for simple kurta style shirts, they have many fabrics except the Indian guy assured me one fabric was cotton not nylon. Even on viewing/touching I could see he was lying, must think me a fool, but I knowingly chose it for one of the shirts and sweated every time I wore it. Plus they aren't able to make ladies' elasticated waist tailored trousers, still messing up when I took them back for correction. The puckering and balooning at the back of the waist were awful.
5-6 years later I need more short kurta-style cotton shirts again. Romeo ('Master Tailor') at the police station end of Poonsuk Road has almost as good a range of fabrics as Mike and is 20 pct cheaper after bargaining with both (cheap cottons). I don't know about expertise but for my simple requirement it's a no-brainer.

Re: Best Hua Hin tailors?
Dear all,
I have just read through all the pages of this post. I will be in huahin for two weeks next week and would like to have shirts and linen shirts tailored. However, I am still unsure which tailor I should go to. Does anyone have an update on which is currently the best tailor in huahin?

Just take the recommendations already given, try one shirt and see the result. You have plenty of time. Also if there a couple of tailors you think are good for you, be guided by the range of fabrics in the store and check prices for the base fabric and 'the makings'. You can negotiate with the shop owner although he'll tell you that after paying his tailor he'll be making nothing.
PS - I don't think it's a good idea to ask any of the tailors to make shorts with elasticated waistbands (not that I'm suggesting you need them). One of the better tailors on Petchkasem Road did a terrible job for my daughter and was unable even to fix the shape of the shorts on return.
