What's strange above also is that Chinese New Year is a holiday in the predominantly Muslim southern areas, and not in the predominantly Chinese northern areas. Go figure? :roll:

Breaking News: "The cabinet has declared Friday, April 12 a special government holiday, ensuring a 5-day weekend for the Songkran festival - PM Srettha"

( Full April holiday listing will be posted mid March.)

Aren't they now trying to promote songkran, as an all-inclusive 5 day event, to foreigners?

I don’t know about 5 days - a while ago there was talk of making it a one month festival!!

Also ... Feb. 24 is a Buddha day so all bars are closed and no alcohol, happy long weekend. :|

As a reminder 2024 is a Leap Year, meaning that February has 29 days. :cheers:
