Fantastically weird news item. He's an anal omnivore!
A female friend (platonic, just) preferred long slim fruits or vegetables. Clingfilm is your friend, she told me. Another used to use the handle of the hairbrush in the ladies' office loo. I do seem to get along with women and I'm not gay.

Juror swears oath on river in legal first
"Nature, thou art my goddess".
Paul Powlesland was not far off quoting Shakespeare when he became probably the first juror in history to swear a legal oath on a river.
Jurors are either required to make a secular promise to tell the truth or to swear on a holy book when they attend court.
Instead the lawyer and activist produced a vial of water taken from the River Roding, at Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London.
He was met with a "quizzical" look from the court usher, who asked him to do a sip test to ensure it was not a toxic substance.
"The judge called me in and said he'd never had a request like this before - he wasn't hostile at all, intrigued if anything," he told the BBC.
Mr Powlesland explained that his devotion for the river, which includes planting trees along its banks, removing litter and campaigning against water pollution, is like a religion.
"I told him the river was effectively my god, and that I hold the river to be sacred".
On this basis, the judge allowed the oath alongside a secular affirmation.
This is the way

Mum's anger over Game of Thrones passport mix-up
A woman was left "devastated" after her daughter's passport application was rejected because she was named after a Game of Thrones character.
Lucy, 39, from Swindon in Wiltshire, said the Passport Office initially refused the application for Khaleesi, six.
Officials said they were unable to issue a passport unless Warner Brothers gave permission because it owned the name's trademark. But the authority has since apologised for the error.
"I was absolutely devastated, we were so looking forward to our first holiday together," Lucy said.

Fisherman Lands First-Ever 'Lost' Lego Shark
"A fisherman from Devon has landed the first shark of its kind - one made of Lego lost at sea off a cargo ship 27 years ago.
Richard West, a 35-year-old fisherman living in Plymouth, found the plastic toy on the top of his fishing nets 20 miles (32km) south of Penzance on Tuesday.
He contacted the project Lego Lost at Sea, whose founder Tracey Williams confirmed the piece to be the first-ever reported shark from the 51,800 Lego sharks lost off the Tokio Express cargo ship on 13 February 1997.
A freak wave in a severe gale swept 62 shipping containers into the sea 20 miles (32km) off Land's End, one of which held 4,756,940 pieces of Lego, much of it sea-themed."

Large desert tortoise rescued from Arizona highway after escaping from ostrich ranch 3 miles away
How long does it take a large desert tortoise to get to the other side of a southern Arizona highway?
It’s still a mystery, after a state Department of Public Safety trooper recently helped rescue an escaped sulcata tortoise that was attempting to cross Interstate 10 near Picacho.
tortoise trying to cross the busy highway that's halfway between Casa Grande and Tucson in Pinal County.
The motorist and DPS Sgt. Steven Sekrecki managed to get the tortoise off the roadway unharmed.
Troopers saw the name “Stitch” labeled across the tortoise’s shell and contacted an ostrich ranch that was 3 miles away.
According to the Arizona Republic, the ranch confirmed Stitch was one of their resident tortoises and had recently escaped from his habitat.

Medical examiner determines dead woman found entangled in O’Hare baggage machinery died by suicide
https://edition.cnn.com/2024/08/13/us/c ... index.html
Chicago (AP) — The dead woman who was found entangled in a baggage conveyor belt at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport died by suicide, authorities said Friday.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office concluded following an autopsy that the 57-year-old woman died by asphyxiation from hanging.
Firefighters responding to a 911 call found the woman’s body entangled in the belt around 7:45 a.m. Thursday in a baggage room near a terminal that serves international flights.
According to police, surveillance footage shows the woman entering the area around 2:27 a.m. Thursday, but it doesn’t show what happened to her. The room where the woman was found is off limits to the public.
Police declined to comment further on the matter pending the outcome of an investigation.
