I have to say, Spain have been the team to play the most entertaining football in these games. Naturally, it doesn't mean they will be champions but I hope they will be. Playing the most beautiful football doesn't always mean, you are the champions and I know most of the people writing in this thread support England and so be it. Without any goggles on, I hope Spain are the champions.

And what a goal from Lamine Yamal. I'm surprised even lost hasn't commented on that.

Well I hope that England win the Euros, but that supposes they beat the Netherlands first, so one step at a time.

Headline in a UK newspaper.

"Gareth Southgate ‘not concerned’ by referee Felix Zwayer despite match-fixing scandal history.
Jude Bellingham was fined €40,000 for making comments about Zwayer while the midfielder was playing for Borussia Dortmund in 2021"

+++

"After the Bellingham comments, Zwayer took a two-month break from officiating. His inclusion at the Euros has not gone down well with some other former officials.

Former Bundesliga and Fifa official Manuel Grafe posted on social media after Zwayer took charge of Italy against Albania that his appointment was unfair on other refs.

“This match will go down as a great shame in the glorious history of German referees over the last decades,” he wrote.

“A referee who was involved in match fixing and who remained silent about it for 6 months until the final moment, thereby enabling further manipulation, sentenced by own association, was nominated by DFB/UEFA (zero tolerance match fixing?!) for the Euro and appointed for this game. Other referees would have deserved it more…”"

+++

Looks like a good excuse if we lose :)

Indeed, it's something to behold. I watched the replay over and over again and it's a kid doing that. A baby face kid! Remarkable.

BB never showed up last night. I think his brownie/banana/ice cream dessert did him in? :laugh: I think it may have been a better match than what we'll see tonight. We'll see. :cheers:

I was saving myself for the main event. Remember, it isn't the quality of football, it is the result that matters.

I've seen quite a few Dutchmen talking about who they will play in the final, and dismissing tonight's game as a formality. I did take a look at the goal you were raving about this morning, but most likely a flash in the pan. Lightning rarely strikes twice.

Having said that, I think Spain are good value for their finals place. I think they could be a decent challenge for Captain Harry and his men.

I've watched most of the games in the tournament, and Spain has played the best and most entertaining football and deserves to win it, IMO. I had Spain to get to the final from the start.

England are just dull to watch and I don't expect them to beat Holland, but will cheer them on anyway as I'll probably get battered if I don't considering where I am at the moment!!

Just remember:
(my favourite version of this song)

Yes, England are playing crap football, but Plymouth fans are hardened to it after trying Southgate's right hand man for half a season. We survived. Of course England can do it. It'll be ugly, but ugly hasn't stopped them yet.

I feel pretty much the same way TBH - The Spanish have played the best football, the the Dutch have been involved in some great matches and are certainly scoring the goals!

Pretty sure you along with the other English supporters will be crying out for the odd "flash" this evening (well early morning HH/Thailand). :duck: :wink:

Yes please, have you got one? :laugh:

As I've said, so long as we get the result, I don't care how ugly the football is.
