So am I. We don't really know the strength of the other teams yet, only reputations. Maybe Serbia and Denmark are the 2nd and 3rd best teams at the tournament. I think even though we're not playing pretty football yet, we aren't doing too badly (but I enjoy watching Plymouth Argyle ). Have faith.
The England players need to get a grip and sort it out amongst themselves. Just ignore the manager and go and play how they know they should be playing.
It can't make it any worse can it? So far they have heard how Southgate is still missing Phillips and Henderson, implying he really wants to keep playing how they have in every tournament he has managed England, and failing, whilst undermining and belittling his new recruits to the squad, as did his experiment with TAA, probably ripped his confidence to shreds as well. We have heard a few players talk about not knowing when to press, or not. so just a wee hint of a lack of game plan from the manager. Kane has stated that Southgate asked him to play deep alongside Rice, for what purpose, is anyone's guess. It seems like Southgate is losing control to me, so the players should sort it out themselves. Enough senior pro's around to do that.
Problem is, what 'class' managers will take a drop in pay to do the England job? Southgate is reportedly the highest paid manager at the Euros https://www.express.co.uk/sport/footbal ... -Euro-2024, but his salary falls well below that of the 'top' club managers.
Who would we replace him with/who would really want the job?
[Edit] All of the following would have to take a salary cut:
Well, that's for the FA to sort out. I can't see Southgate staying, win or lose. There is something not right about England at this tournament, and that includes the players sending out different messages - and not many that reflect well on the manager.
It’s obviously easy to be wise after the event, but apparently there’s a fair bit of noise coming from the England squad wishing they had Jack Grealish available as an impact sub. Going by what we’ve seen so far, they’re probably not wrong!!
Look, packing the field with your most talented/expensive players isn't the same as fielding a team who gel and who can defeat the opposition's tactics on the day. Southgate has had time enough to work this out and failed miserably and should hang his head.
One of the BBC commentators for the Denmark game said that was the first goal England had conceded in the group stages since 2016. That's not enough to lift a trophy. It's never coming home at this rate.

Penalty not given, 10 minutes added on (or until Hungary scored).... Well, shite! The ref isn't related to the Muppet at "Twickers" yesterday is he?
Pharvey right now...

I don't trust children. They're here to replace us.
