The key is probably in the words, 'isolated' and 'scattered', which most likely means Cha-Am and Khao Tao.

According to Weather and Climate, Hua Hin is supposed to have an average of 64mm of rain for the month of April

And according to Thai Met we had precisely ZERO!

March was 43% above average(all came on one Friday evening!)

May is supposed to have 105 mm so maybe watch out for a wet one! Or maybe the drought will continue??

For the year to date we are down 37% on average

Just easing off here - traffic light end of 112. But still black skies above and strong winds. Very, very heavy rain, and its just getting another head of steam up as I type!

For us over here it will be a huge termite night. I'm recalling all lizards who may be on leave, and birds as well if the enemy arrives before dark!

Stayed heavy for about half an hour then settled down to a steady drizzle and has remained that way ever since.

Certainly comes as a welcome relief after the last month or so of absolutely sweltering temperatures.

Has nobody used a rain gauge
I was away from my home but it stared and was heavy from !.50 at Hin Lek Fai and continued for 30 mins then changed to good rain until 3.30 pm.
My rain gauge in now as rain seems to be coming over the next 10 days.
Anyway excellent and the garden colour has improved so much overnight
