Thai Enquirer begs to disagree.

Oh well, its only money to us Farang. Its the poor Thais I feel sorry for. I'll make sure I fill up before the 31st anyway.

We'll just have to wait and see if they go through with it - be sure, there will be protests if they do.

If fuel prices go up ... everything goes up. And these imbeciles are still claiming there is negative inflation in Thailand.

The Lazada delivery driver has switched to an electric bike. He says it's better and cheaper. It's so quiet I don't even hear him arriving.. Yes, everything will go up as it always does.
Just hope the benzine users like me don't get stung too hard again.

^Without the subsidy, it would be about 34bt/litre which is still about half of what you would be paying in the UK.

Is that all? I thought it would have been more. 34 is still very acceptable IMHO.

30 to 34 is a 13% increase so you can expect the price of everything that needs to be transported by truck/bus/pickup to be hiked by more than that to cover the rise in fuel costs - that was all over the Thai news yesterday.

Of course, but we know the truck drivers will try to intervene before that happens.

Percentages!! I remember years ago when fuel went from 7 baht a litre to 9. Non Thais couldn't understand why a 2 baht increase was such a big problem!

I think they are trying to be smart, thinking the truck drivers won't notice small incremented rises. I don't think the public are as stupid as the politicians think they are. We will see.
