I've been to the festivals at Cha-Am a couple of times and at a local army camp once. Yes, the kites are very spectacular. Very picturesque.

Never been in Thailand, but have been to similar in China and Japan which were incredible. Unfortunately, the title "International Kite Festival 2024" would lead you to believe it's an annual event held "internationally". Which obviously is b*ll*cks (not down to BB I'll add quickly) - the US has the "Biggest" (obviously  ), but "International" festivals are held everywhere. Those in Asia always seem to be the top, so personally I wouldn't hesitate to go if I had the opportunity.

There are plenty of photos of previous festivals on this forum - you can look for yourselves.
