Hua Hin live music scene
Re: Hua Hin live music scene
Haven’t been able to open the link - just times out. If it only refers to locality useful but only partial info. The real issue for me goes to what genre of music is being offered rather than band name and location.

Mikeyb's link opens fine for me and includes genre information for each act.Phil D wrote:Haven’t been able to open the link - just times out. Just a quickie...that made me smile..
I was out the other night listening to a local band & they started playing the opening chords to Hotel California..At that point the Thai lady sat opposite me said "listen, they're playing the Thai national anthem"..& laughed..Well that got a titter from me also...555

Popped into Calypso Bar on Sunday night for an hour after Rock Zone to see Crazy Bull Band. I was surprised to see a young but very competent red (dyed) headed guy on Bass so I presumed the regular guy was unavailable.
Today I read the sad news on FB that the regular Bass player , Cha , has passed away.
RIP Cha.

Shit, that's terrible news, I saw him playing on Friday in Fame. Any idea what happened?

Was at the Rockzone last night enjoying the band in there which absolutely ripped it with some serious Kings of Leon and Red Hot Chili Peppers covers and noticed a poster across the street at the 'Chom Jun' nightclub. Sek Loso is playing there on March 7 ... definitely going to that one!

Great finally seeing Sek and the band, one of Thailand's most iconic IMO. Loso was very influential for me in the 1990s when I first came here and learnt the language.

Re: Hua Hin live music scene
Pre covid I was a regular at Rock Zone before it moved to its current location. The band Thairish played several nights a week and were excellent. I have since seen them play at Coco 51 and The Pub but recently they seem to have disappeared. I don't go into town much these days but I wondered if anyone knows where they are playing these days? TIA
Re: Hua Hin live music scene
They play at Bintabaht, Birdie Bar on Thursdays, not sure about other nights, saw them there around Xmas time. Not sure why they don't play Soi 94 area any more. Check Sandy Beach FB page for full daily listings.berlinmichael wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 1:29 pm Pre covid I was a regular at Rock Zone before it moved to its current location. Thai Irish punk rock ... Error 99, these guys absolutely nailed it at Father Ted's last night, hope to catch them again sometime. More Irish music and festivities today ... sláinte.

The Rockzone's band "The Answer" was rocking with some great Led Zep covers last night.
Looks like there is a big rock music concert planned for June 1 in Paknampran also ... some big names there ...
