I don't think it's far away - LH had reportedly been on 40 Million a year but the poor soul (amongst others) "suffered" the effects of the budget/salary cap. However, sponsorship and endorsements will have more than made up for it!! Not forgetting, he and a few other fellow F1 drivers are residents of Monaco and as such don't pay any income tax...

Well, the Final Round of this year's F1 is upon us. Red BS and Crashappen have walked away with things this season and well, it's difficult to see anything different it 2024  :( . That said, upgrades at the Scuderia have the looks of making them more competitive, Mercs though have a lot to do and may just lose their 2nd place standing in the Constructor's Championship to Ferrari this coming weekend. Still lots to play for further down the field with McLaren and Aston Martin fighting for fourth for example - the former could be on for a Podium Finish this weekend I think - though with me being in the "Relegation Zone" of the Prediction League, don't bet on it!! :?

An interesting point for this weekend though, is that under current rules, "New/Young Drivers" must be given an opportunity to take part in one Free Practice Session per Car/Driver per season..... This could make it an interesting FP1 in Abu Dhabi!! :thumb:

"A host of new – and some more familiar – names will be getting behind the wheel of various teams’ cars in Free Practice 1 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

As F1 teams are required to run a young driver – defined as someone who has started no more than two Grands Prix – in two FP1 sessions per season, several are taking their final opportunity to replace one of their regular drivers with a rookie on Friday at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Half of the grid will skip the session while the following 10 drivers step in for the opening hour of running in Abu Dhabi, with some making a return appearance while others are set for their F1 weekend debut…"

A disappointing end for some to the 2023 F1 Season - another walk in the park for Crashappen with Perez missing out on a Podium finish due to a 5 second penalty. Mixed race from Ferrari and Mercs with Leclerc taking P2 and Russell P3. Poor from LH (P9) who had a pretty dire weekend of it.

New cars coming in for 2024, but Red BS are just so far ahead of the field it could be a very one-sided "competition" (again) next season..... Let's hope not though!!

Well, parahandy has led things pretty much all the way through, and takes the Title this season sharing the "Podium" with JJBones (P2) and PeteC (P3) - Congrats to all :thumb:

F1 2024 entry fees: Huge cost behind Red Bull’s mighty season now revealed

https://www.msn.com/en-au/sport/motorsp ... 85acd&ei=8

The full extent of what Red Bull will have to pay to the FIA to enter the F1 2024 season has now been finalised, with a huge total now confirmed.

Red Bull will have to shell out a huge $7,445,817 [£5,898,390] in entry fees alone to the FIA, because of how the sport’s entry fee system is structured – almost 10 times what Haas will be paying to be on the grid next year.

Along with a base entry fee, teams pay a set fee per point to get themselves on the grid, and with Red Bull scoring 860 of them and the inflated fee for their status as Constructors’ Championship winners, a big cheque will need writing to the FIA.

F1 2024 entry fees confirmed with Red Bull paying more than double anyone else

Additional reporting by Thomas Maher

The entry fees for the F1 2024 season were announced in October with a 6.5% increase for the teams to pay based on inflation, and now that the points totals have been finalised, each amount the teams will have to hand over to the FIA has now been calculated.

Red Bull will have to pay more than double nearest rivals Mercedes’ total, with the Silver Arrows set to pay $3,347,012 to race next season, and while Red Bull team boss Christian Horner knows it’s a lot of money for the team to fork out, he acknowledged the huge amount of work that has gone into a record-breaking year.

Many thanks, pharvey, for organising this fine tournament of near Olympic importance. From the very beginning I expected to slide down the order in what has been traditional fashion for me over the years, but somehow that didn't happen. I wish I could say that it was raw skill or incredible knowledge or something similar, but it wasn't. I actually quite like Max (sorry Pete), so it was just easy, so long as he kept perfroming. Looking forward to next year already! Thanks again... P.

F1 2024 entry fees: Huge cost behind Red Bull’s mighty season now revealed
Max Verstappen to pay record-breaking fee for FIA super licence renewal

https://www.msn.com/en-au/sport/other/m ... 62650&ei=9

Max Verstappen’s success has come at a price, with his FIA Super Licence next season set to break a record for how much it will cost to race in F1 next season.

After clinching a record points haul of 575 in one season in 2023, the FIA’s pay-per-point system for the Super Licence, as well as to the teams themselves, means that his and Red Bull’s pockets will be hit to be able to re-enter Formula 1 next season.

After posting a record points total last season, Verstappen spoke out about the “absurd” fee he and Red Bull had to pay the FIA last time these figures were taken.

While he was due to pay €963,800 last season, this time around, even with a fee freeze for 2024, he will be due to pay €1,217,900 – a 26.3% increase on last season.

But given that entry fees for F1 teams went up by 6.5% in line with inflation on the United States Consumer Price Index for 2024, it’s likely that Super Licence fees will follow a similar trend.
For 2023, every driver had to pay a €10,400 flat fee to the FIA for their Super Licence, plus an additional €2,100 for every World Championship point they scored in the 2022 season.

full list further down..............................................

Well, I guess it's one way of penalising Red BS and Crashappen for their past "offences". Doesn't come close to what they should have shelled out though!!
