Hua Hin onsen spa

Post by buksida »

I have started to miss the Japanese onsens since returning to Thailand. Options are limited here as we're a long way from any hot springs (I think Ranong is the closest) and the hotel/resorts charge a packet to use theirs if you're not staying there.

Fortunately, Hua Hin has its own mini outdoor onsen spa in soi 94 and I tried it out over the weekend. Service is excellent and there are several small hot and cold pools in addition to a sauna and steam room. The place is small but wasn't busy when I was there (mid-afternoon). Cost is 280 baht but you can get it for 180 if you pay for ten sessions in advance.

Yes, you have to go in your birthday suit in Japan ... not so in modest Thailand, the place will provide you with some shorts.

Jintana Sauna is much better. Neither place resembles a real onsen in Japan.

The ones in Bangkok are fully nude and some are run by Japanese.

Does the jintana have hot and cold pools?

Soi 102. Run by a Finnish guy that’s an expert in Saunas.

So that's what that place is! I drive past it regularly and was always intrigued by the number of cars parked outside.

Just up the road by Euro deli. right on the corner with 102.

Yeah, the cold bath is a tough one, managed three five-minute stints in it ... and this is when you need the hot pool after!
