Re: Footy Scran
The cost of food and drink at UK football venues (and probably most other sporting arenas) is extortionate and in many cases poor quality - that’s why it’s known as Rip-off Britain!!

Of course, I've been to a few major sporting events in Thailand, and yes, prices may vary by a few Baht, but there is rarely any price hiking. You will pay the same price for street food, regardless of where you are. Most larger events have a fairly comprehensive food court, where you can buy everything you'd expect to find in the e.g. basement of Market Village, at the same quality and very similar prices.
Likewise, stop en-route to an event at any motorway service station. In the UK you need to get a mortgage to buy a small bottle of water. Here, you will pay the same as any 7-11 or Ma & Pa Shop. You can get a decent meal at the same street food prices you will pay anywhere. 286฿ for a Wycombe hot dog or 352฿ for a Plymouth burger, why would you? A pot of BG Bugs at 20฿ or a Muangthong Chicken Curry at 45฿ - there's no comparison.

Going slightly off topic but believe it or not, I visited Blueport this morning for the first time since before Covid and foolishly had a coffee and a muffin with my wife and paid 420 Baht for the privilege!!

I believe it. Coffee shops in Thailand are generally overpriced.

I like that Twitter attached a community note on this post to explain what a faggot is in this context. Wouldn't want our American friends to be alarmed.

We travel to Bamboo Grove's country today. Vendace fish, the rarest freshwater fish in the UK, a relic of the ice age. Will set you back £30 for 100g in England. In Finland they serve it up on matchday.

Vendace is a great fish. Smoked, fried etc. An old friend of mine comes from a fishing family and whenever I visit his place we get vendace from his bro or his nephews who are still fisherman. Can't beat the taste.

It's not only the taste but the circumstances as well. Sitting by the lakeside, and having a special place to set the fire and cook, enjoying a few beers at the same time.Would love to try it but way out of my budget currently.
Sorry, I'm taking this off the topic.

A trip to Anfield today and huahin4ever's hunting ground. Lovingly defrosted in dishwater, this meat could contain anything.

Vendace fishing is done with trawlers so you can't go fishing and drinking beer with this fish.I'm thinking fishing and beer rather than
Vendace is usually fried like this (in the summertime)
