There are wholly portrait TVs now. I assume they are for the phone generation!

Instead it has devolved into a semi-acrimonious discussion that I don't understand at all.

I'll leave this thread and leave it to rest of you to hash out.
Hi. I just read the thread and don't see any acrimony, just discussion.

Anyway, back to smiling, I see you have a ceiling fan AND an aircon. There's posh! :)

This discussion is like my wife and I talking; lots of interpretations on both sides.

On rotating a screen (TV) vertically, in the old days I remember using it with a laptop to read in portrait mode or horizontally to see 2 pages at once. These days, I read news and books with my tablet held in portrait position; gets rid of some of the adds and makes it easier to read.
Oh but to be wafted away

I was surprised when I saw this post because I thought the OP was talking bollox. I apologise for those thoughts - technology has overtaken me, and I hadn't caught up.

The last time I tried a video from my phone, playback on the phone was fine in landscape, but using it with any other application, you had to rotate it first, which could take hours. I've just done a couple of tests, and loaded a landscape video to YouTube and Facebook, and both videos uploaded fine in landscape.

So yes, I agree 100% with the OP, why do so many still use portrait? Or are they still dinosaurs like me?
