Or a low emissions zone in the centre like a lot of cities around the world are introducing.
That would eliminate 99% of the black smoke belching diesel pickups!!

In theory. Will it be enforced?

Of course it would - all laws in Thailand are enforced aren’t they?

With great police enthusiasm, about once a week before lunchtime, like most other Thai road legislation!

Will the hordes be with us all next week since Monday is a holiday and so are Thursday and Friday?

Petchkasem was closed down to 1 lane today with a million cones in place and every cop on duty. Not sure who it was for but appears to be a clear route to the Marriot.
All cops on 'traffic' duty when they'd normally be with their mates drinking coffee, I guess they decided to do a helmet blitz. Every m/bike was stopped whether you had a helmet or not.

I think they've arrived. It's just taken me 21 minutes from the flyover to Soi 94 :cuss:

Yesterday and today, cones outside the palace forcing single lane into Hua Hin. Cop at every soi. I saw some vehicles u-turn when they saw the cones ahead - maybe thinking a police checkpoint.

Well I got stopped yesterday aft while an entourage flew by (lots of 'royal' cream-coloured Mercs), but today I've notice that all the cones are still out there...??
