Big Boy wrote:Does Nit have any end time for breakfast? The reason I ask is we have a friend arriving from the UK very soon who used to like a Nit's breakfast when she was opposite Initial. Problem is, his day normally starts after midday. If its an all day breakfast, I will give it a go with him. My opinion of when she was opposite Initial was OK - nothing special, but I'm willing to be won over. Mikeyb's listing does sound like excellent value.
I've eaten mid afternoon several times. Once had it at 6pm

I really don't think there's an end time but I'll check next time I'm there

I shall continue posting my reviews of English Brekky places such as Nits Euro Deli Andreannas Yings etc etc.

And I will continue to comment on other aspects apart from just the food such as the staff service, the ambience and of course the price.

If people don't care about the price then they can just ignore that aspect

You mean you'll stop posting aggressive and borderline offensive personal remarks about people who disagree with you? It woud be nice, but I don't believe it....

(edited for speeling and grammer)
No issue with people disagreeing with me

However when they make completely unrelated, inaccurate and unjustified negative remarks(peanuts, out of touch... oh btw, now 25 places, still counting) then I will respond, as others do btw, I'm far from the only one.

You're the aggressive one, I'm just posting about bacon and eggs and TV shows

The personal remarks have been made against me(intransigent, mundane life) not by me

I will continue to post about English brekkies. If you want to get offensive and argumentative in your replies so be it.

I made no aggressive remarks, I never do. I did suggest you may be suffering from gout as YOU are so aggressive (saying I'm talking nonsense and b***ocks for expressing an opinion). By making posts disagreeing with others YOU are being argumentative: why you consider it's wrong when others do it I don't know.

Sad all round.

Anyway, Burgers & Beer/Zabwer all the way out of the similar places I've been to over six years, for meal size and menu choice.

1. I noticed you still haven't answered my question. Where is B & B more substantial than for that price?

Probably because there isn't one, other than the one I gave you. Plus the 5 * hotels on the beach. And they'll give more food so doesn't qualify

2. You called me
-Aggressive
-Old boy (why?) Ageist remark( is that allowed under forum rules?)
-Out of touch (on this subject, laughably wide of the mark)
-Mocked one of my medical conditions(and yet you strongly infer I'm sad)

And yet after you make all those remarks to me(without reply) you accuse me of being "borderline offensive"!
The hypocrisy is staggering!

3. Yeah I used the word bollocks about what you said. But I never made any personal insults to you. As re "Bollocks" .... maybe a bit strong. (But am I really the first person to use that on here? I seriously doubt it)

But then again it was! The notion that every restaurant in HH charge the same prices, and you just pay say 150, 170, 190, 210 depending on what you add to your plate is just wrong. Plain and simple! Got news for you. Some restaurants offer the same food for less/more money, hence my Nits/Euro comparison(Euro is almost 30% more for a comparable plate). Prices vary from place to place. Fact.

So, to recap the "you get what you pay for" is/was just wrong. I might have been a bit strong with my reply.

Sorry Petal! (you know, as in "Calm down Dear" )

Ps feel free to edit my grammar and spelling(and again, I'm the sad one?!!)

Aside from the (ammussing) bickering, the posts seem mainly to be about the Price & Size of the breakfasts (slightly) before quality - especially those sausages eh BB :D

I for one am not a big eater at breakfast - in fact give it a miss quite often. When I do partake, I'm more inclined to have a Sausage or a Bacon Bap - maybe with an egg or some fried tomatoes.... Do these establishments cater for the "lighter diet" or do you need to make do with the "Full Breakfast" make your own "Baps/Sandwiches" and leave half the meal?

That may get the Bean (sorry Peanut) Counters going!!

So then After all your bickering (& no outright decision being made about the 'best' US/Eng fry-up for breaky in/around town)
How about a table/chart?..Showing the name of the place, the location, Opening times, average price, plus what's good, & what's not about their breakies..? OK it may take some composing, but we'd all get a general idea about what's on offer out there at the moment..?
For me it's either Nany's opposite the tax office Nr Ban Khun Por..Always cooked well, ranging from about 140b-190..
(Sitting outside I can witness the world go by..including all the sad farangs riding by on motorbikes wearing no helmet & no shirt..Wow you lot look so macho..Thai ladies must be fainting at the sight of you...555)

OR...Bob's up 88 at 'Route 88' (next to turning to go up Hin Lek Fai hill)..OK it's a small place, but small fried breakies are about 130 inc big mug of good coffee or tea..Add-ons, bigger options no problem, & IMO always cooked well. Patch of bare ground next to his place to park your vehicles too.

Both these venues serve Sunday lunches so a later breakkie option may not be possible..?
Sorry...Opening times unknown, & apart from Sundays both may serve breakfasts all day.

BTW..Where is Nit's..????

Yes, most do much smaller options such as the sausage bap.
Where is Nit's..????
Soi 102. Sort of opposite Paris Bakery.

FBS is it possible to stop all the bickering which is tiresome and serves no purpose, polutes the readings and no one will have the last word!
Just stick to the topic.
Slight reminder the title is : Locations that serve a "good" American  / English breakfast.
So just keep it at that, name/location/price and leave your opinions out. Up to each individual to try out the places if so wished.
What's good for one isn't necessarily good for another, therefore stick to the facts.

[Mod Edit] centermid, you are continually off topic - breakfasts please.

[Admin comment]: you bring nothing of value to this forum and are on a self-admitted mission to post 'bait' with the sole purpose of trolling. You are no longer welcome here.

Perfect post, Joelle. Hopefully that will get everyone back on track.
Personally, I rarely go out for breakfast. In days gone by I used to visit the Oasis. Their 'Big Breakfast' at 199 baht was excellent imo. You could sit outside or in. As it's a pretty quiet road, it's peaceful enough to sit outside.

The Oasis has been around for a long time. I'm pretty sure that when they started breakfasts, they were among the few that did an English breakfast.

Whilst I’d agree that there’s been far too much bickering on this subject, if you’re going to just give a location and price, it’s hardly worth posting the comments. Most people who are eating a FEB will have had a number to be able to give some form of opinion regarding the quality - if you experience a particularly good (or bad) quality sausage or bacon (or location or service), what’s wrong with saying so?

my personal opinion is this, price does not matter if the quality is good within reason, anyone worrying about 100-150 baht extra needs to stop being tight.

Beer and Burgers, great breakfast, good quality and large based on the largest one, been lots of times and never had a bad one. inside mv so nice and cool and convienent.

El Murphys, very good, quality ingredients , plenty of food and nice and cool.

Adriannas Bakery takiab, probably easily the best , very high quality food,

The three above are my preference .

Nits cafe, I have had the breakfast a few times and will again if desperate, this is not a nasty dig, as I eat beef stew and cottage pie from nits several times per week and love it, just feel the breakfast lacks class.

Nany cafe, used to go loads when I lived on 94 and it was the nearest breakfast place, not been since moving , nothing appealing to make me return, cheap and cheerful if you live close by it is useful though.
