Locations that serve a "good" Amercian / English breakfast.

Restaurants, food, beverage, hawkers, and local markets and suppliers. This is the place for discussion on Hua Hin's culinary options.

One of them is location. It is nice when in various parts of town to be able to go for breakfast e.g.:

North of town, my choice is Harrys

West of town, my choice is Fishing Lodge

South of town, my choice is Oasis

All 3 places offer a decent breakfast, but they are places we only visit when in the area.

Next up is opening times - locally, they don't all 7 days per week, so we need alternatives.

Finally is availability/parking. My local go-to place, which doesn't serve the best sausages, but that is compensated by IMHO the best portion of fried potato anywhere in Hua Hin is Pat's Place. Sometimes (especially in the last 6 weeks) there are no empty tables. Other times, you just can't get parked. In such circumstances, a plan B is necessary.

Has anyone tried Connection Cafe in Soi 94. I believe it is run by two Brits by the name Jimmy and Tony who also runs a YouTube channel ( https://youtube.com/@tonyandjim7349 ).

Maybe they have a good full British breakfast?

I’m so glad that I don’t have to worry about this, I don’t think I’ve ever had a “Full English” since I retired here more than 11 years ago - muesli or cornflakes and fresh fruit washed down with a mug or two of tea does me fine!!

No, but it's on my list to try at some point. It is easily walkable from my house, so no parking problem. However, I did see them review a breakfast on YouTube once, and it wasn't my kind of food. Do you know what time they open?

Out of curiosity, what is a "good American breakfast?"

So you do actually go out each morning for brekkie?

My local place opens at 9 six days a week and has plenty of parking, but my visits are only occassional. Otherwise I'm with DB, a mix of muesli with tea is my daily staple. On saying that, all this talk of brekkie might just tempt me in the morning!

That should have read 'they don't all OPEN 7 days per week.'

No, probably 4 times a month, but days differ.

My usual is a bowl of Weetabix washed down with coffee, and maybe a banana,

Yes Sir, been saying this for months. For me it's the best English Brekky in HH!

Recently I tried the breakfast at Andreanna's Bakery.

I can honestly say that based upon the experience on that day, I won't be going there again, not for English breakfast anyway.

I do know that their Sunday roasts are good. I've had them myself and I know other people who really like them but as for the
breakfast.... it was not good at all.

I had the mini Monty at 175 baht(see below)

The good...
The sausage was pretty good to be fair

The Bad....
I specifically requested my fried eggs to be soft and they weren't even close, they were well overcooked, almost dry yokes

The Ugly.....

It was the worst bacon I've ever had, not only in Hua Hin but in Thailand. See photo. Hard to describe what a weird excuse for bacon it was, not resembling rashers of bacon in anyway. I wouldn't mind the awful appearance so much if it was damn tasty, but it most certainly wasn't. It was something you throw to your pet dog!

But like I say the basis of any basis of any good English breakfast is the bacon and the egg and they were both poor, particularly the bacon.

Also why this annoying 'plus 7%' vat? Just put it in the price like everyone else does

Maybe I just got them on a bad day.....

I think my dog would have turned his nose up to it!! Having said that, it looks a bit like some of the pork slices/off cuts they sell in Makro which is not bacon, just thin pieces of pork, so no “bacon” flavour!!

Correct, it didn't taste like bacon.

To be fair I think your dog would've at least had a chew for 5 seconds, then spat it out, then looked at you as if to say "WTF Dad?!"

However, I'm pretty sure that that is not their typical standard. Even if the bacon was decent I'd still favour Nit's 102 purely on food alone(ie not location). Price is basically same
