We had a landscaping, outdoor works business back home and we dealt almost exclusively with pre-school / kindergartens, often working in "their world ' sometimes for weeks or more
the rapport we struck up with the kids, their educators / teachers was something i often look back on with so much happiness, and with so many fond memories, of the bonds and friendships made with the teachers
i am still unable to fathom , why, just,,, why..

These uniformed people regardless of what branch have been strutting around like gods ever since the 2014 coup. Lording over people at events and gatherings, and more so during any periods of martial law or similar emergency decree operations.
There is a whole lot of truth in what you have posted, Pete. I have recent personal experience of this with the police. Strutting around, waving his arms and yelling at me. It is not possible to either reason with, or argue, with a ****k while they have a gun within reach!

With what happened; it is beyond comprehension to most of us, and the only thing to try and do is not read anymore about it and try and block it out. There are many amomgst us that have to think: "there but for the grace of God go I".

Aggression is biological. It puts us into alert mode if we experience danger. It helps us to protect ourselves when necessary and to adapt to the environment. For example, it's normal and healthy to react aggressively if someone tries to push us. Our survival instinct leads us to react with aggressive actions against a threat.

Violence, on the other hand, is cultural. It is composed of behaviors intended to harm others, for reasons independent of our objective need for survival. Only humans show violent behavior; no other animal does.

That's why violence is learned. Aggression is an instinct, but violence is symbolic. This means that we come into the world with innate traits to respond aggressively when necessary. But the desire and tendency to hurt others for other reasons is learned.

"Violence is the fear of the ideal of others."

Gandhi was right, and all negative emotions are based on fear, and all positive emotions are based on love.

Wow! Just googled 'aggression vs violence'.
75 million hits. I read a few and my take is that nobody really understands the difference. Contradictions abundant.

But I tend to agree with handdrummer's comment regarding fear and love.

Reported that the man had no drugs of any kind in his system after 2 autopsies. So, it appears he wasn't a crazed yahbah head on a rampage, just a very mentally ill individual. Unless his beahviour was caused by drug withdrawal which is possible so say the experts.

Why do people want to find an extraneous chemical cause for heinous actions or resort to psychological platitudes?
How about personal responsibilities and actions.
Perhaps he was playing the field, perhaps he was playing the field, perhaps being caught and suspended was the line in the sand or not passing on the readies to another in the chain.
Look what is happening in the world.
Fractious lines are appearing everyday and people are starting to present different responses.
He will rot in a special part of a Buddhist Hell.
PS the MIB have been an issue a lot further back than 2014 in my experience!
The idiotic western media have been harping on about Gun Control in Thailand and we all no how easy it is to walk into a shop there and buy 1 and ammo - NOT!!!!
