On 22 August 2022

To be honest, from years of experience posting the Thai Weather Bureau alerts and forecasts, they are seldom accurate or even close, at least here in the east. Their satellite and radar info on their website is always hours behind real time. In some cases the radar has been off line for days but it's still on the page and you have to see the fine print at the bottom to see what day the images are for. :banghead:

For me the best is the Weather Channel phone app. They hit it the majority of times, even to the hour when rain/showers will start.

I feel the same way about the Thai Met Dept and their daily/monthly rainfall data

Hence I shall stop reporting the summaries of it, simply because I just find their data to be utterly inconceivable on many occasions.

I love data, but not when you lose faith in its accuracy and just cant trust it.

I would still appreciate forum users posting their personal rainfall data though as I find it interesting.

I'm not in Hua Hin at the moment but I can see (and hear) from our outside security cameras that there's been a big thunder and lightning storm going on in Soi 106 area this evening.

I keep getting warnings that motion has been detected - which seems to be from the reflections of the lightning strikes in our house windows.

From what I can tell there seems to be a goodly amount of rain coming down too.

I’ve been checking my cameras and it’s been raining quite heavily where we live (6-7 km on the HH side of Cha Am) for a good 3-4 hours.

Hah!
I intend being in Hua hin November to December, then February to March. Around eight weeks in total.
Why fly 6000 miles to get rained on?

Cloud? What cloud? :)

These pics from Bkk were sent to me a couple of days ago. The ones from Khao Kalok yesterday. Firstly from Bkk:

And from Swampy:

This pic is taken at Sam Roi Yot beach with Khao Kalok in the distance:

The next two are taken just north of Khao Kolak:

I also have a short line video of the cloud formation in this area, although I am not sure where it is taken, but I don't know how to post it.
