I know three Thais in Cha am self isloating afer ATK positive tests. All have minor symptoms, contacted the hospital and were told someone will review their symptoms and call them back. No personal details taken, no returned call so far (from yesterday).

I suspect this is the new norm.

As for the number of cases for Cha Am I have stopped because the way I learned to count at school is not the same as the way they count here therefore the total figures given don't match mine.
A very nice day to all
Thanks, I find your posts interesting and informative.

Thanks Joelle.

What is interesting is that the numbers for Thailand yesterday reached an all time high - previously August 13th.

It seems that many people are not reporting positive ATK tests. However in spite of that the local numbers are not going down so I wonder how high they really are !!

By the way, I also found your reports on local clusters very interesting.

If Thailand follows the same trend as in the UK, there are a few weeks to go before the increasing numbers continue to rise before plateauing out and then starting to drop - hopefully those in charge won’t take any knee-jerk reactions before then!!

Am I right in thinking Thongsuk 'Restaurant' is infact the large nightclub near Big C that has thousands of customers every night?
If so I'm not surprised there is a cluster there!
Enjoying 'Retirement'....So many jobs to do, I don't know how I ever had time to work!

Well I go out to places, like McDonalds and shopping malls, but I still mask up unless I am eating or
drinking. Two days ago one of my 80+ year old coffee pals called and he had come to meet with us
even though he had been feeling badly that morning, as he thought it was only a cold. His wife phoned him
while he was there, and he got up and left in a hurry. That evening he phone me at home and said that he had just
tested positive for COVID, as his wife had tested positive, and that is why she phoned him. I was lucky in that
I had been 3 meters from him and he left in one direction in the Restaurant, and I left out another door.
I think my chances were pretty good in not catching COVID, as we were only together with the guy for a
few minutes, before he had left. He said that he and his wife had been cautious, but his wife
had been going out more often to be with her friends, and she was more reluctant to wear a mask than he was
so he feels that he got COVID from her. We are all glad that omicron is less deadly than the first 3 variants,
but at our senior ages, we all do not want to even see how omicron is as a flu like sickness.
It is nice that where I live, the provincial government has dropped most restrictions, and everyone can start getting
back to a more normal life. I hope that by November the rules and restrictions will be less in Thailand as I
do not like shoveling snow, and being in minus temperatures, so I hope to escape the Winter and enjoy at least 2 months in the tropical heat of a Thailand Winter, or cool season.
Pluto is my favorite planet!, especially now that we all can see close up
pictures of it.

it seems that the surge on Sunday is related to a cluster in Army camp and another one in a sawmill

Due to the increase in covid cases Hua Hin Hospital is restricting services for a while until after Songkhran. HHH services are normally restricted during public holidays anyway.
