Covid-19 News & Updates
Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Prayut and his ministers have brought this country to its lowest point
These images should make you mad. They should make you upset, they should make you angry, and they should make you want to take action because the time for inaction is over.
Last night, local media showed scenes of people who had passed out and/or died on the streets of Bangkok due to either Covid-19 or because they had been malnourished and without support during the lockdown.
Their bodies were left on the side of the street for hours.
Many of us never thought we would see the day when fellow Thai citizens would succumb to disease and starvation on the streets.
It is the lowest point in our history. This administration has brought us to our lowest point in our country’s history.
The pernicious influence of the criminals that sit in this cabinet can no longer be tolerated by us because we will not survive it much more.
Contrary to what they would have us believe, they are not here to stop the rot within Thai society but they are the rot within Thai society.
While they debate and fight with each other over who gets to benefit from the pandemic, Thais are dying on the streets, without hope, without support, in scenes we’re more accustomed to seeing in far-flung foreign reports than here at home.
...
The worst part is that we cannot get rid of them. We are stuck with them. They have manipulated the system, have forced it upon the people at the tip of a gun barrel and now no matter the loudness of the chorus asking for their removal – they simply will not leave.
If this was any other country in the world, the ministers would offer their resignation out of responsibility…or even shame.
But this lot in power are shameless. They will keep dragging our country into the abyss.

A scathing attack on the junta ... and rightly so ... Tolerance seems to be wearing thin here.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Very true joelle. As I had to return to work at the end of April and will hopefully be returning again soon, apart from chatting with the wife, the forum and figures are the best guide to what is happening locally and nationally. The current trend is not looking good and rather than predict what the situation will be I am ready in case I have to return to the UK instead. It all makes for pretty depressing reading and I really should take the 'look at a slowly emptying bottle of Old Peculier' approach instead surfacing to assess what is happening once I know I will be traveling homewards.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
The part of the below article that stands out is: ...."On Sunday, Thailand’s Disease Control Department Director-General Dr. Opart Karnkawinpong said a complete lockdown following the Wuhan model may be imposed in the next two months if the situation does not improve."......
What that would mean is basically you're in your house and no one can go out, food and supplies delivered. Stay tuned as that would be quite something if enacted. Of course the consequences on the economy here would be dire.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
13,655 new cases. I can see this going to 20K +. Can anyone see a light at the end of the tunnel. And they're opening up more 'sandboxes' from August!

I'm sure all will be well come October. #HuaHinRechargeHHTel wrote:13,655 new cases. I can see this going to 20K +. Can anyone see a light at the end of the tunnel. And they're opening up more 'sandboxes' from August!

They're just blowing smoke out their behinds. The "leadership" has no idea what to do or how to do it. They're in hope and pray mode.

That's not happening, see the thread on Hua Hin News

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Hua Hin discharge is more like it, the last thing these numpteys in the govt should be doing is encouraging people to travel (and that includes going into the jaws of hell to get jabs or covid certificates).
