^^ Ballocks, the guy probably spends most of his time watching black and white art movies in Italian with subtitles. It is what it is, 90 minutes of light entertainment action. If you want something deep and meaningful, don't bother.
Well I shall give it a go despite the predominance of colour and lack of orchestral instrumentation.... I do like my Mr Neeson filmography
Thanks for the tip RE: Amazon Prime!

I will admit to taking some notice of the IMDB rating as that is a summary of votes cast by a number of people.
I'm more inclined to look at Rotten Tomatoes ratings, but I agree that all reviews are very subjective.
Following comments about “The Ice Road”, I watched it last night and I reckon the Amazon Prime score of 3.0 out of 5 was about right - I’ve watched worse movies but also a lot better.

Did the same and agree...

This one has been on my watch list for a while now.
I've just done a search for the title on this thread to see if covered before - brought up a lot of 'Sandman67' posts. Lot's of wholesome reading.... where is that guy...
Mads Mikkelsen at his usual fantastic. There's something very likable about him despite what role he plays.
'Casino Royale' and 'Polar' comes to mind.
The title somewhat misleading although actually quite relative to the story.
Not everyone will like this but I believe very deserved of it's IMDb rating.
I think Lost will appreciate it and hopefully a few others. Certainly not the easiest of watching.. a little too realistic perhaps. If you're in need of a bosie and good cheer up then this film is not for you.

Very good actor. Saw him in Arctic recently.

I don't know if this belongs here or somewhere else.
Last night I saw the 2012 movie, Contagion, about a world-wide virus that began from bat droppings in a pig wet market in China.
Covid-19 looks like someone saw the movie and thought it would be a good idea to imitate it.
Very strange. It had everything; from the scramble to invent a vaccine, vaccine deniers, increased crime, the government coverup, food other shortages, overwhelmed medical facilities and finally, a vaccine that worked.
Is it a case of life imitates art? It's great fodder for conspiracy theorists.

Seen it twice, once at the time and second time just before covid outbreak
Edge of the World - Loosely follows the story of Sir James Brooke who defied the British Empire to rule a jungle kingdom in 1840s Borneo. A bit like Conrad's Outcast of the Islands and Lord Jim combined. Worth a watch if you like your history. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3006472/
The Ice Road - Low budget action flick starring Liam Neeson. Predictable storyline and cheap effects but it'll kill a couple of hours. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3758814/
Infinite - Best of the three for me, but I like my sci-fi. Wahlberg plays a reincarnated man with all the memories and skills from previous lives, and of course baddies are trying to get him. Full-on action all the way. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6654210/
