Maybe a big advantage for phone users then. Crazy the android and PC systems aren't in tune - Thai IT I suppose. At least it hasn't asked me to scan a QR Code yet :D (I'm sure they're working on it :banghead: )

I must say, I'm getting fed up with Lazada. In another dispute I'm waiting for them to phone me. Fortunately, I have saved my Live Chat messages as evidence. An item was supplied incorrectly. They told me to keep the item as it was their fault as compensation for their error, and they would send me the proper item. They are now demanding the incorrect item back.

And I'm getting just the opposite. Ordered a new TV and Lazada themselves called on Saturday apologising for the delay in delivery which according to the advert should have been delivered between Thursday - Saturday. They promised delivery today, which they did, but even gave me the option on Saturday to cancel as it was late. Whoever called spoke very good English and was extremely pleasant.
I wish I'd taken her name so I could direct any problems her way.

Don't get me wrong, they are being very nice, but thick. They don't seem to understand the meaning of (a few extracts from the conversation):
  • No, I'm sending you one directly here, so you don't have to return it.
  • You don't need to proceed with sending product back, and you can keep the product. Return process will not be proceeding , and no additional cost in this case. OK
  • This is our mistake.

I'm finding the shipping charges are now making many smaller items actually cheaper to buy in a local store again.

I've just bought something from Ali Express - no mention of shipping charge. I paid the price on the item, which was already almost 1,000฿ cheaper than the exact same thing on Lazada.

Can you sign up for Ali without entering credit card details now? Last time I tried it I couldn't.

Today I got the refund for the not so smart phone from Lazada directly to my bank account, because I paid with my Debit card. I also bought several items from Aliexpress, but I don't remember if I had to enter credit card details to register.

Just tried Ali Express, that was a wasted 20 minutes as no COD options available and silly delivery dates. Just looked at fenugreek powder and was given an August 16th delivery date :cuss:

You can sign up without card details but with no COD options you will have to at some point

Forget it then - COD all the way for me! :thumb:

While on the subject of delivery, I have noticed stuff shipped from China is getting here quicker. Bought some motorcycle parts that you can't get in Thailand and delivery time was about ten days. The shipping charge is the same from China as it is from Bangkok - go figure!

I bought an electric razor from Lazada. It worked perfectly for two weeks and then it stopped charging. Taking a close look it was clear that the charging socket had oxidized. Closer inspection revealed that the heads of all the screws were " chewed" they has been removed with a screwdriver the head of which was the wrong size. It was a refurbished razor. Too late to complain.
I bought the same model online from Central but this time with a guarantee. It has worked perfectly. Accepting that there are many honest traders on Lazada this experience has taught me to be cautious when buying online.
Now, if I can buy from a high street store or from the manufacturer that is my chosen route. Should something go wrong I set my ( Thai) wife on the culprit.

Yes, I agree, I usually ignore Ali because of the credit card element, but have used them with no problems previously - they are a last resort. In this instance, a 1,000฿ saving on an item Lazada had incorrectly supplied previously seemed a good opportunity. Lazada had actually supplied fake goods originally.

I ordered a new lap top from Lazada on Sunday, Monday I had a phone call to say it was out of stock, would I take an alternative. After a little bit of research, it was not what I wanted, and I suspected it was lower specs and cheaper than what I ordered, so I cancelled the order. I am now waiting for the refund, and hoping it will come sooner than later.

Post by bigston »

whether its electrical, computers, or whitegoods, air cons etc

Yes, I've ordered stuff from them before, often cheaper than Laz and you don't get stung for shipping every time. Their online platform is very 'quirky' though.
