You're absolutely right, Caller. I was more concerned with 90 day reporting. I know that it's currently suspended, but until when? I've never successfully managed to do it online.caller wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 5:04 pmWhen I looked the other day, there was a sign up explaining about the automatic extending of visas and 90 day reports. There was a further sign saying if still needing visa assistance, to go to the main office.
I can't see that there is any need for the Bluport office to re-open until the end of July?
Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions

Re: Changes to Bluports opening hours.
Well logically (grimace), a 90 day report would be due 90 days after they change the law back to what was normal, for those who have been here and covered under the Covid exemption.
A lot of people would be showing up during the allowable window around 90 days from that date, but better than a quick shock you have to be there within 48 hours or some other short, arbitrary date. We'll see......

To take those thoughts a step further, Covid is changing the way people think and how people do things. People meaning individuals, companies and governments.
When Big Joke was chief he hinted several times he wanted to do away with the 90 reports. No idea if that would have been a blanket ruling, or for established foreign residents only.
Perhaps they'll see the light, and since it doesn't appear that the lack of 90 day reports has resulted in an expat crime wave, they'll amend the requirement at least for resident expats. We can live in hope....

Re: Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions
I'm probably wrong, but immigration say that your records will be automatically updated, so to me, that meant that my next visit, due in June, will automatically be ticked as 'done' or whatever and then I am next due to attend again in a further 90 days time.

My next 90 day coincides with my visa renewal, so I guess I'll show up regardless

Re: Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions
For once in a while, I decided to be a good boy and did my 90 day report at the main office this Monday.
I also was wondering how things would go after July 31st and as I had some time to spare, I just did it. Needless to say, it was quiet and I was in and out within 15 minutes. My new report date of August 12th fits in nicely with my extension date of September 11th - can apply 30 days early and i've got an extra 7 days on the reporting if I need it.

So they are taking 90 day reports at the main office. I'd heard that while it was suspended people turning up for 90 day were being turned away. I'm currently 10 days past my reporting date.

Re: Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions
My wife called the main office in Hua Hin and spoke to the head officer. He told her no 90 day reporting until July 30th.
Re: Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions
Thanks for that. I'll relax on your say so.
Re: Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions
At least my report is done. I appreciate that it's not necessary.
But at least I got out of the house and tried to confirm the requirements for my next extension. And guess what, it was quiet.

Re: Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions
I did my 90 day report at the main immigration 12 days ago. I was in and out in under 10 minutes.
Re: Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions
As usual with immigration - clear as mud and everyone experiences everything differently.
Have heard from two separate people extending retirement visas recently that the officer said the 90-day report exemption is not applicable to them. This sounds ridiculous as tourist visa holders don't have to do 90 day reports anyway (until now). But it is exactly what immigration are capable of.
Mine is due next month and I'm going to attempt it, online first, and then in Chumphon which is closer than Hua Hin. Will do this for two reasons:
1) I don't want to be fined when some power/money hungry schmuck decides that non-imm visas were never exempt in the first place and ...
2) There will be thousands of people turning up on or around the 31st to do it.
Don't expect or assume anything logical or sensible will emerge from this - it is Thailand.

Re: Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions
Had a friend doing it yesterday. No need but they appreciated him coming anyway and processed his report. 10 mins, 2 other customers when he was there so no waiting time. This was around 10:30.

I just tried the 90 day reporting online with the Chrome browser. Surprisingly it worked without any problem and was approved immediately.
