Nice Restaurant for 'her' birthday

Looking for a reasonably upscale restaurant to take my lady for birthday treat. Have car so can travel, but prefer HH locale.

It's more about a smart place with very good service rather than the style of cuisine.

I'm sure you chaps have had to make this call in the last year or so!

The Chinese restaurant on the top floor of the Hilton should be suitable.
good food and service, though the drink prices are exorbitant!

The Choclate factory on Soi 65. Very pleasant new building with nice ambience,varied menu with excellent food either Thai or Farang. Parking on site. A steak will be 50% less in price than I would pay in Aberdeen.

Le Paillote, French restaurant, eat inside or out, excellent service, great food, extensive wine selection, cocktails. Not cheap but for a special one night affair, it's wonderful. You can see their menu online.
