Laptop with cracked screen
After the lid on my hp lappy had been shut hard with reading glasses still inside, the screen is now unreadable..do I now assume this laptop is scrap, or are cases like this repairable here in HH..? If the item is indeed now scrap, I,m open to suggestions as to where I could buy a cheap/second hand one for a month till my return to Europe...Many thanks in advance.
Re: Laptop with cracked screen
Take it to Mr Don, he will sort it if its possible. Fast as well. I left him my old HP when it died - he may be able to do a transplant.

He changed his phone number. This worked today: 080 650 1477.

May I present to you a cartographically correct map of your shop location.
My OCD couldn't handle looking at that upside down backwards map.

Plug / share screen to another monitor / TV if having. I have one laptop dedicated to that and TV, with wireless keyboard. Comfy surfing. Use till return home, then buy new / upgrade, as I wouldn't bother fixing, unless inexpensive to do.

How do you plug a laptop into a TV? Keep it simple for the digital challenged.

Most laptops and TV’s will have an HDMI port so you need an HDMI cable available from most electrical storeshanddrummer wrote:How do you plug a laptop into a TV? Keep it simple for the digital challenged.

Re: Laptop with cracked screen
Then simply select 'dual monitors' or whatever in display options. Can even turn laptop monitor off if watching movies, as I sometimes do, though simply tilting screen, sort of blurs it out so not distracting.
If smart TV, don't even need the cable, and can do via internet (network), though does require decent internet.
Basic HDMI cable will do, and the 'gold / super / HD / stereo' promo crap, does nothing to enhance the performance of a basic cable. Think mine was ฿180 from Advice Distributors.

Re: Laptop with cracked screen
Find the 'display / monitor' setting in control panel. These are what mine are. 15" laptop Win7. Not sure what the TV is set at, 55" so probably not relevant to your application.

Thank you everyone. It's all understandable.
