BB, HHTel. Thanks for explaining. Don't know how I managed to miss them. My wife says I'm going senile so that may be it.

Maybe, but evidently no bladder problem, as you had to walk past the first one to go to the toilet!

Good memories of taking my granddaughter there many times when she was still a nice lttle girl. She was always enchanted with the trains rushing by.

Actually in all the times we ate there I don't remember ever going to the toilet. Maybe senile but the bladder's still OK.

OK guys, we've been this evening.

First observation - the salas have gone  .

Outside of that, and the pretty lighting with a few extra plants that have been added, it could just be a slightly refurbished Mr Burger 3. The new lighting actually goes into the water now, so you can watch the fish swimming from your table.

As we've already discussed, the food rates as OK - as good as the lower priced popular restaurants in the Binthablock area, but the setting sets it apart from many others. I like it, and will definitely be going back.

It is on the Klong Road going North about 00 yards on the right before the Boi Fai traffic lights (where I have to u-turn).

Big Boy,

We went into Oasis a few days ago. There has been some refurbishment and the food is definitely better than before.

Definitely worth a try and, in fact, we returned two days later.

Cheers

Thanks to those who have posted about this place. I used to be a regular at Mr. Burger 3, and like Big Boy, I always headed straight for the salas. Yep, the food was nothing to shout about, but that was reflected in the very affordable prices. I always felt that you got really good value for your money there, and that is even before you consider the beautiful setting.

If current prices are still much the same as they were, then I can only hope that this place manages to stay open. If they get enough customers, maybe the owner can be convinced to get some salas as well. :D

went there last night and was very enjoyable, lovely setting, sat on the terrace by the pond which has been tiled, food was very good and so was the price, had duck cooked to our liking served with vegetable and potatoes at a reasonable 160 bahts
worth going, we will definitely go again
wishing good luck to the new owner in his venture

Hmm, called in for lunch on Saturday. Not impressed, but then the particular dish that I ordered is new to me.

In a hurry on Monday and called in again as I was in the area. No cars or bikes in the carpark. Went in and nobody to be seen, no staff, pet cat, dog, not even any birds in the trees. Used the Hong Nam and waited a further 5 or so minutes and then went back to the car and buggered off!

I have since sent him a SMS and he did answer me, apologises and claiming that he was there but did not see me. Strange way to run a business!

I have been a couple of times in daytime. I found the prices were more than reasonable and the food very acceptable. This week I had Boeuf Bourguignon with spaghetti which was a little strange but worked. My friend had one of the Creole dishes and said it was excellent.
Only 3 tables occupied but it was in the middle of the afternoon.
The Thai food was cheap with green curry, panang gai, massaman etc all at 100 baht.
I found the French owner to be very attentive although it wasn't busy!
I would certainly go again.

Today I noticed that the restaurant's name board out front has been replaced by a "restaurant for rent" sign.

Too many places in that area now. In addition it is a PITA to get into coming from town, and if you live on the North side, the same to get back again. Shame really, as it is a pleasant place with easy parking.
