Do you know which brand it is? If its a Hayward make the agent has a very good Thai lad that speaks good English. The shop number is; 032 53 6711. I do not have his mobile number.

Just be a bit careful who you let loose with it, as some of them should not be fixing wheelbarrows!

Absolutely need to know which brand as Nereus says. Poolrite/Enduro only has one agent in Hua Hin now and they are not cheap. Also replacing gaskets is not a tough job if you want to buy the parts and do it yourself (even the spider gasket if that's the problem).

Otherwise a whole new filter and multiport is not as expensive as I had though, once I checked.

Poolmat opposite Soi106 have got a good guy. Have used them over the years for both rewinds and resealing and new bearings.

I think this is the Hayward dealer that Nereus is referring to (He kindly put me onto him.)
Speaks english quite well and is approachable seems to quite knowledgeable on Hayward products. I didn't use him as I am currently running a Poolrite Enduro EP 930 Pump.

I spoke with the local dealers about repairs (replacement of mechanical seal, and bearings), a tad expensive for my liking, likewise the cost of spares, i.e., mechanical seal and bearings.
Used a motor rewinder and pump repairer in Pranbury, Had to take it back twice. (Cooling fan not mounted correctly and seal leakage) Then to another repairer near to the Palace,
(now seal leaking again and increase in noise from front bearing, suspect a chinese bearing has been fitted!)
Should you you consider sourcing mechanical seals/bearings have located a supplier in Cha-am
who is reasonably priced (very similar to the price I normally pay in Oz)
Mechanical seal: 3/4" Type 6 or 16 fits Enduro/Hurlcon etc 240 baht
Bearings: Japanese NSK 120 baht/ea
Will Post card for supplier later today.

This is exactly what I meant in my post. Willing to bet that both the bearings and the seal quality are not the problem, but the way they have been "fitted".

A 6203 bearing is a standard size regardless of manufacturer. Normally the ones used in a pump motor have the suffix 2RS, which means 2 Rubber Seals: 6203RS, OR they could have a suffix of "ZZ", which is 2 "shields". Rubber seals are better at keeping out rubbish and keeping grease in, but after arguing with these things for over 50 years, it has been proven that with the high speed that these pumps run at, the grease gets thrown out leading to a shortened lifespan regardless of which type is used. Most pool pumps will require new bearings after about 5 or 6 years.

Chavalit is very good, but not sure if he will work on non Hayward pumps.

Same problem last November. 10 year old Emaux pump = seal badly leaking due to steel shaft eroded. Bought new Emaux Pump model SB10, 1.0HP at ฿12000, total set of course, including motor, pump & strainer. The new one has Stainless steel shaft, was here next day & and was more than 33% cheaper than any dealer in HH but you need Thai language to speak to them = Motion Group Co. Ltd. Bkk Tel: 02-4161282. Web: http://www.poolandsaunacenter.com. They also have Hayward & other brands.

Also, Sep 2010 bought Compu Pool CPSC salt water chlorinator in Hua Hin ฿27944 - it sh*t the bed last week, So, Ordered Emaux SSC-15E, from Svadon - Chengdu Daremay Swimming Pool Equipment Co., Ltd., China = Alibaba @ US$420 (฿13860±) https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 00756c7H6Z Motion Group Price = ฿24900, HH price = +++ don’t even bother. Including some other heavy equipment on the order the Fed Ex was US$98. Dealt with a lady, Jocelyn Liao, excellent English, replied with prices in 10 minutes. Had the order drafted in 15 minutes after I confirmed & I paid thru Alibaba with a USA VISA card.

The order included an Emaux Model MPV03 1.5” 6 way Multiport Side Mount sand filter valve @ US$58 (฿1914±) HH price = ฿6500, Motion Group, Bkk price = ฿4300.

Will give update about Thai customs on this after we receive it.

So there u have it, lots of footwork already done if you need somthing — maybe going for new would be more reliable & cheaper in the long run

Know nothing about Enduro but PoolRite went bankrupt more than 3 yrs ago. Parts are still available tho thru a 3rd party & can be bought in HH

Poolrite has been rebirthed again in Australia under the Evolve Group with most spares available there at a reasonable price if you hunt around.

GDL Pool Shop. Khun Na, 081 3780425. On the left going south out of HH, past the Aroy restaurant and Vana Nava.

Even just fitting new gaskets won't be cheap. A whole new Emaux filter might be the answer.

Sorry, typed this and then saw you're talking about the pump, not filter. :)
