I just plug my wife's charging cord into the USB port of my computer and copy/move them as if it was just another storage device...
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Same here, but I also have iTunes installed, not sure if my iPad would be recognized by Windows as an external drive if I didn't have iTunes installed. I use Windows Explorer to transfer the pictures off my iPad, the iPad shows up and works just like any other usb thumb drive except I can only transfer things off, then delete the files from the iPad using Explorer. I can't use Explorer to copy anything to the iPad, not sure why.

My wonderfully generous "Fearless Leaders" have recently provided me with a new iPhone - where's the bl**dy Samsung I ask?

Anywho, aside from numerous other "workings" I'm trying to get used to, I have just downloaded an attachment from a company Email and can't for the life of me find it on the phone. On my Samsung, it's all straightforward - I simply go to the file "My Files" and hey presto, there it is. On the iPhone however, I just can't seem to locate the file - completely different system of course. Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Apple I 7 Explodes

Post by StevePIraq »

Looks like this is catching

Apple iPhone 7 follows Samsung Note 7, explodes inside package!
Following the steps of arch-rival Samsung, an Apple iPhone 7 exploded while still in the package. A Reddit user "kroopthesnoop" posted a picture of the exploded iPhone 7 this week. Now, the iPhone 7 did not go off in glory like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, due to a battery effect, but while still in transit. When the user received the iPhone & he had ordered and took it out of the box, he found it in this condition. Though details are yet to be available on the same yet. The user said on Reddit that something went wrong with the phone between the factory and the delivery.

Apple has sued Samsung several times of copyright infringement or copying their design. Now I think Samsung can sue as they were the first to come up with the exploding feature...

Any Mac experts out there?

Post by crazy88 »

I have a couple of problems with my Mac computers.

I have an Imac and a macbook pro. A few months ago they started telling me that certain programs were no longer supported. Photoshop and iPhoto which I use for work all the time and are genuine copies. After a bit of research I was advised to upgrade to Mountain Lion which I had done by an Apple guy and all was fine for a couple of months then the following problems started.

The iMac will not recognise my password. I have tried several things to reset it

The Macbook randomly resets itself. There seems no pattern to this. I have run verify and repair already.

Any help much appreciated.

I don't know why you would have to take the computers anywhere for an update. Click on the Apple image top left tool bar>about this mac>and you'll see the button for "software update". The current system is Sierra version 10.12. I would try to update to that and see if it solves all the other problems? Pete

Thanks Pete

I will try it on one of the laptops after backing up. The desktop, however, will not process the password so I cannot get in to do anything.

Things to look at if you haven't already concerning your password:

"Press the Command and R keys at the same time when the grey screen appears and hold them until you see the Apple logo. A small loading bar will appear under the logo. Sit tight as your system boots into Recovery Mode. Click the Utilities tab in the top menu bar, select Terminal, type resetpassword and press Enter."

"You may start to freak out if you ever forget the password to log into your iMac or MacBook , but it's really not that big of a deal. All Macs include a built-in password reset tool that is incredibly easy to use.

To get started, you will need to restart your computer. Press the Command and R keys at the same time when the grey screen appears and hold them until you see the Apple logo. A small loading bar will appear under the logo. Sit tight as your system boots into Recovery Mode.

Click the Utilities tab in the top menu bar, select Terminal, type resetpassword and press Enter. Close out the Terminal window and behind it you will find the Reset Password utility. All you have to do now is select the user account you want to reset, enter a new password or leave it blank and click Save. Then just simply restart the computer from the Apple menu and login with your new password. It's as easy as that.

This method is very useful if you ever forget your password or if you need to get into a child's password protected computer. It can also be used, however, for malicious purposes."

Sorry, but I've got to ask. If it's that easy to reset a password doesn't it make a farce of using password protection in the first place?

Is it any more difficult with Windows or Linux?

EDIT: To be honest I've never had to do it but would imagine there's some kind of verification step sent to your registered email address....or similar.

I honestly don't know, but I've not used a password on my personal machine for many years now - I keep nothing of interest/value on my laptop. If somebody stole it, they'd just wipe the disk and re-install a clean operating system.
