Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin
Usually end of Buddist Lent is a joyful day. It's the first time that this day is a dry and sad day. It's the decision of taliban PM. Luckily we still can drink at some places and at home. Unfortunately bars are closed but massage parlors and brothels are open. That's Thai hypocrisy.

No idea, but Mrs BB has been told the Lottery has been put back a day to 17th December.

Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin
I'm not sure about an accohol ban on the 16th?..but we've just got another official letter this evening & I'm sure my Mrs mentioned the bars are not allowed to sell alcohol tomorrow (the 15th)..so as yet I'm unable to confirm if it's 1 or 2 days?
My wife DID mention that every year she can remember the bar-owners have had to close for at least 2 nights in the month of December..always in high season.
BTW on the King's birthday.. bars in BKK & Patts were open as normal..only H.H.bars penalised by yet another closure.

5555! I'm confused again B.B. so the ban is tomorrow..thanks for that..
Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin
My Thai friends who run a bar in town tell me that it's not an alcohol ban today but bars in the centre of town have to close due to proximity to the temple and funeral rites for the late Supreme Monk.

Yes, I've just driven through Khao Takiab, and there are people sat in front of bars openly drinking i.e. not out of coffee mugs.

Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin
cruising thro town tonight, afew bars open. I saw none on 80 and they are not near the Temple. One large bar, near the Hiton.. Interestingly, 2 bars VERY close to the police station open.
