No, sorry, can't see it. It was in one of those freebie mags about 18 months ago, but you never know how old the stories are. However, I did say, "That was the stated wage 2 years ago for each of Hua Hin's players. Probably a little bit more now." So I guess we're saying the same thing.

Even if their pay has doubled in 2 years, it's still negligible when compared to Europe, which is what I think the question was.

Who was it that said ''a new broom sweeps clean" - and it wasn`t Van Gaal!! No sign of Stephens aswell as the departing Lamptey and the banned Owusu. From looking at the pictures I would guess that some of the new players and maybe on trial and as for signing Brazilian players I don`t think they will be in the class of Neymar. We have to remember guys that we are in the 2nd Division of the Thai Leagues and we are not playing Barcelona or Real Madrid every week and we have small crowds of 700+. HHCFC wages may be more than most teams but they don`t have the sponsorship that we do. I have a relative that plays for one of the University teams and he is on nothing like 20,000 baht a month and he is a decent player. I suggest we will "cut our cloth" accordingly and a feeder club arrangement could benefit us with the main club paying the wages while we give the players a much needed chance of first team football. As Big Boy has mentioned, what happens if our Roman Abramovich decides he has had enough after a few attempts at trying to get us out of the Division? Whatever happens it is exciting times at Hua Hin City FC and I am eagerly awaiting the start of the new season.

Pretty much so, and I think to make it clearer for me would be that you mentioned.. quote "I often think Hua Hin play better football than Plymouth Argyle" - what's the average wage of PA players?

I have no idea these days. When under the Japanese sugar daddy, they were instructed to pay way over the odds, because that's what would make them better footballers, and bring better results :? The sugar daddy walked when England didn't win the world cup bid, and the rest is history.

In saving the club, all remaining contracts had to be re-negotiated significantly downwards, and sugar daddy wages are still being paid off. Some players accepted the new terms, while others walked. However, I've no idea what the wages are these days. Because of its geographical position, Plymouth have always had to pay high wages to attract players that far South.

I have noticed on the Thai Football League website that a few clubs have announced some pre-season games. What is the story with the Mighty Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC? If we are going to be having some home games in pre-season are they going to be at Pranburi? Remember of course, that we have to play 2 home games behind closed doors, so it has to be beneficial to attract a bigger team to fill the coffers before we lose two lots of gate money!!

I've not heard anything yet, but last season's pre-season friendlies were all played in Bangkok. Hopefully that will change under the new management.

Also, the in season friendlies were usually announced on the day they were due to be played.

Yes, it is logical to try to attract a few big teams to fill the coffers, but TIT. Logical and Thailand rarely appear on the same page :?

As soon as I hear something, I will announce it here.

Ouch!!!

They've just announced the 'not retained' list (18 of them - these were last season's champions :? ), and it includes players like Sutin and Stephens - both favourites of mine last season. For those who hate Anucha. it's Anocha, not Anucha who is going.

They've also announced 6 new players. The white Guy I mentioned is Jimmy Solar or Sola.

The announcement in Thai (I hope I've got it wrong)

OMG!! I don`t know what is worse - Google Translate or Bing!! Both are absolute nonsense!! Yes, as you mentioned Big Boy, there are a few of our favourites on the list. I have to say that there are a few that I feel should be on the list that have not been mentioned. Who the hell is Jimmy Solar? Is he an example of a Grade A player that we are supposed to be getting!! I am upset at the departure of Sutin, who I thought worked so hard for us and he is one that I thought could play at a higher level. I doubt very much that Nolberto Solano had anything to do with this list, so who is actually pulling the strings at HHCFC?

I must say that I was in a state of shock as I read through it. Like you, I was pleased to see some names, but distraught with others. IMHO Stephens had fantastic vision, and I was going to write to John Sheridan telling him of this fantastic player we had wasting his talents in the lower echelons of Thai football.

You're right, it can't be Solado's doing, so I wonder what footballing talent has put the new squad together. Has Arthur Daley found a new job as player's agent? I'll be honest and say that when looking at the pre-season training photos, I thought that some of our new talents are significantly overweight. The club will probably have to get in touch with me to get extensions sewn into their match shirts  .

The Brazilians are being brought in for their speed, but what good will that be if the rest of the team are gasping for breath at the half way line? I'll nip out to the training ground soon to see if they are fat, or not photogenic.

Jimmy Solar - sounds like a comic book hero. I looked at the Ratchaburi web pages and couldn't find any mention or photos of him, so he obviously made an impact there.

Just as well we didn't get promoted. Div 1 has just issued a directive that K.O.'s will be 18:00 and floodlights would have to be at least 800 lux. Admission at Fort Thanarat would have been 50 Baht plus bring your own candle.

I wonder if they'll make exceptions for Prachuab to fit in with TV schedules, and to await late arriving dignitaries :?

BB, I'm not sure that's the real Jimmy! I've reason to believe our one is not a white guy at all! Was it announced somewhere that this is "Jimmy" ?
