Very sorry guys, I've been telling people this week's fixture is 18:00 K.O. In fact it is 17:30 - I guess Prachuap need to economize on their electricity bill

Re: Hua Hin City FC
Hopefully Big Boy, I will be there on Saturday cheering the guys on. I can`t believe we have people on here bitching about what, where and who post things on this forum. For the most part Big Boy and myself have been trying to encourage as many people to come along and see what we are talking about. After what turned out to be an exciting last month to the normal season I was really expecting the crowd to be a lot bigger than what turned out for the game against J Bangkok after the fantastic away support we took to Petchaburi. If only the local media took more of an interest in the football club instead of encouraging people to eat as much as they can for 159 baht so they can`t get off their backsides then maybe we shouldn`t have to shout our heads off so much. I wrote to Approach Magazine and also the Hua Hin Today paper and didn`t even get the courtesy of a reply. This football club represents the City (or is it just a town!!) and advertises several local businesses on their shirts and should be shown more respect than it appears to. Can we have our own Forum page for the football club and let the burger wars be conducted on Events and Activities, where I can conveniently disregard them!! We love Hua Hin, We Cheer Hua Hin!! Onwards and upwards!!

Oh dear, this definitely gives Prachuap the advantage today - I doubt we'll even manage a draw. I seriously hope that I'm wrong
[edit]
If we can contain them for the first half, maybe the pitch will have dried for an exciting 2nd half comeback.

I've found the recent forecasts totally unreliable - we we predicted to have rain at 6 am this morning and had none and again at 10 am, but with half an hour to go there is hardly a cloud in the sky, so I am confident it will be no rain and 3pts for HH - good luck.Big Boy wrote:Oh dear, this definitely gives Prachuap the advantage today - I doubt we'll even manage a draw. Re: Hua Hin City FC
I fear you may be correct. It is a fact that Hua Hin's style of football does not work either in the rain or on a waterlogged pitch. Unfortunately, they don't have a Plan B.
Mind you, if Prachuap don't stuff Hua Hin in those conditions, they just as well quit now.

Re: Hua Hin City FC
I can`t wait to hear what you have to say about it, Big Boy, because words fail me!! I have seen some poor performances but nothing in the same league as what I saw today. I am truly speechless. Again a huge support from Hua Hin who were encouraged every step of the way by the "band". Surely we have to get rid of the coach after this. Again he was clueless. We cannot play with 3 at the back, however good we think we are, The midfield disappeared after about 2 minutes and we squandered at least 3 clear cut chances when it was easier to score. Oh and Anucha - get rid of that ridiculous ponytail. My two year old niece had one yesterday and she can cross a ball better than you aswell. I hope you can add something to this Big Boy. The tv cameras were there today so now the whole of Thailand can see our faults - and there are plenty. If ever we needed a rude awakening this was it. Over to you Big Boy...........
Re: Hua Hin City FC
Thanks Davy B, where do I start?
I'll start with the stadium. A very compact stadium, perfect for this level of football, but I have my doubts regarding the adequacy at a higher level, which based on this result, they will surely achieve.
An excellent travelling support for this level of football, with about 400 making he short journey South.
First of all, I'll start with the Hua Hin team. When I saw the line-up, I was delighted - this was the 'dream team', our strongest possible line-up.
We had what must surely be the best defence in the division, with Lampty and Stephens as twin centre halves, Kanchit at right back and Surapon at left back. That would surely be impregnable.
Well, the usually solid 'brick outhouse' Lampty had a shocker. I'm actually not sure if he had a shocker, or the Prachuap attack was far superior. I'll opt for the former, as only one of the 4 defenders consistently cocked up.
Straight from the kick off, Hua Hin made it perfectly clear that they were going to play their usual possession football. I would guess possession wise Hua Hin won this game easily with a number in excess of 60%. Prachuap had prepared very well and just put up a brick wall at the back. All but Lampty and Stephens were eventually working their way into the Prachuap half, leaving themselves very exposed to the counter attack. This coupled with an under-performing Lampty, the cricket score was inevitable. Prachuap were very fast on the counter, and Hua Hin paid the price.
In midfield, the Hua Hin midfield generals of Owusu, Sutin and Wongsawad were very quiet. Owusu usually commands the midfield, but apart from his wonder free kick he rarely featured. Wongsawad as usual, ran his heart out, but headless chicken came to mind. I don't recall Sutin getting very involved either.
The forward line of Kissana, Anucha and Yongsak were trying, but as is often the case, ineffective. Prachuap were getting so many players behind the ball in defence (due to the infinitely slow Hua Hin build up each time) shooting opportunities were few and far between. As usual, Anucha took a lot of stick. Personally, I thought he played quite well yesterday
. Interestingly, buksida was in the enemy's camp last night and we had a chat at half-time. He was full of praise for the Hua Hin number 8 (he didn't realise it was Anucha). He actually said that he wished Prachuap had a player like Anucha.
Finally, despite conceding 5, Shota was probably the best Hua Hin player.
Writing this, I've come to realise where Hua Hin go wrong on so many occasions, making their forwards seem to perform so badly. Hua Hin faff about passing the ball around their defenders so much, the opposition just have to stroll back into their defensive positions. By the time the ball gets to our forwards, the bus has been well and truly parked, and shooting opportunities are few and far between.
Hua Hin have to take a lesson from last night. Yes, Plan A has served them well all season, even though it has been frustrating for the supporters at times. We need to develop a Plan B - fast counter attack. Prachuap only had a Plan B yesterday, and boy, did they punish us with it? I would say man for man, Hua Hin had the better footballers. However, when Prachuap went forward, the ball only went in one direction. Hua Hin must take 20 passes to get from one end to the other.
The first goal was a sign of things to come. The Prachuap player had all of the time in the world to slot the ball home.
Owusu evened the score with a fantastic free kick, but a penalty awarded after some frantic defending by Hua Hin saw the home team take a one goal advantage into half time.
The second half was much of the same with Hua Hin doing much of the pushing, but being caught on the counter. 2 of the Prachuap goals came in the last couple of minutes as Hua Hin pushed everybody forward.
In conclusion, Prachuap were excellent value for their win, although 5 - 1 did flatter them a little. So well done guys.
There are still 9 games to go, and I hope Hua Hin learn from last night, and develop a Plan B (and even a Plan C for when it rains). A 3 week break now, and when we resume, there are 2 home games - time to put last night's disaster right.

Re: Hua Hin City FC
Fantastically summed up, Big Boy. I have never seen our defence run ragged as it was yesterday. Lamptey - so often my favourite player must have wished he was still waiting for his visa and was dreadful. Our midfield were none existent and we were chasing shadows and didn`t get within 10 meters of their opponents during the whole game. So often I saw 2 or in some instances 3 Hua Hin players closing down 1 opposing player leaving both flanks exposed for the counter attack. We have to be more clinical in front of goal. Better teams will punish us for schoolboy errors, sloppy defending and missed opportunities. Prachuap were not great but they were effective in exposing our weaknesses. I have a feeling that if we don`t get our act together we are going to see more results like this. I see your point regarding Anucha. It must be scary for the defenders when he is running at you with the ball but he doesn`t do it often enough for me and he becomes frustrated. It is good enough for Division 2 but we are going to be playing bigger and better teams next season and we will find out if he, and the rest of the team, are up to the challenge. I have doubts after yesterday.
Re: Hua Hin City FC
He was doing it last season, and I know that he can do it. However (embarrassed that's taken me all season to realise - probably haven't looked critically enough because the end results have been right), our slow build up game is giving the opposition too much time. Anucha's game is to hang off the last defender and cause mayhem when he gets the ball. In the few times he gets the ball this season, he can still cause mayhem. The problem is that we build up so slowly, the opposition have too much time to mark him and intercept the ball. If we were pushing forward faster, there is more chance the defender will cock-up, and Anucha can play his natural mayhem creating game. The guy's ability is being suppressed by the team's tactics.Davy B wrote:I see your point regarding Anucha. I'm also sure that our forwards have been told, only shoot if you can see the target clearly. Our slow build up, gives the opposition time to flood the penalty area, limiting clear view of the target.
You are 110% right about our coach. I hope this is the kick in the arse he needs.
