Yep!!

Didn't invent the auto, nor the assembly line, but did create a manufacturing process that allowed autos to be made cheaply.

My Grandfather worked as his chief go-for and, though brilliant in a lot of ways, a racist jerk also.

Goodies, Monty Python, Rowan Atkinson

All graduates from Oxford or Cambridge who performed together in 'Beyond the Fringe'?

It looks remarkably like Atkinson, but I think it's Charles II (unless it's been very carefully photoshopped).
2 is Palin and kevin Kline in Fierce Creatures.

Unfortunately I don't have time to dwell on the connection...

^ Certainly the Goodies, Palin and Kline, but the movie is "A Fish Called Wanda"....... need to think about the connection.

Well not too bad so far between you all

The Goodies
Michael Palin and Kevin Kline in "Fish Called Wanda"
King Charles II of England

Now....what is the history connection between all three?

I'd hoped it was going to be something to do with the Goodies Lancashire martial art of ecky-thump but I can't tie Charles II into that from any direction!

Ok, Stevie G is on the right track

here is your hint

Its something to do with that very specific picture/scene of Michael Palin and Kevin Kline, and this scene from the Goodies:

Kline sticks chips up Palins nose but don't know the connection.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
