The Masons' first entry in the International Bob-sleigh was not expected to go far, despite their obvious "enthusiasm".

Would the male voice choir find the “Falsetto” voice it was auditioning for?

Well, sorry Bristolian, when I saw the competition photo, I cringed and thought a duff week this week  . Well, it turned out to attract a bumper entry, and the judges complemented everybody on the standard of entry. What does Big Boy know? This week's top 5 are:

5th arcadianagain with "The original Chippendales sent the Edwardian ladies all of a flutter" (12 Points)

4th Khundon1975 with "The Proctologist's class of 1894, at their graduation ceremony." (15 Points)

3rd Bristolian with "Not exactly what the customer expected when he asked for a Lap Dance, at the Gentleman's Club" (22 Points)

2nd dtaai-maai with "The Committee had six co-chairmen but only one chair." (28 Points)

1st place goes to Bristolian with "What has 6 handlebars, no wheels and only one seat?" (30 Points)

Thank you very much to all who participated. Better luck next time to those who didn't win.

Bristolian you now have until 23:59 on 28 Sept 14 to post the next entry. Competition results will be announced on 3 Oct 14.

BB. I can only agree that picture caption competitions are difficult for the picture poster. Every time I post the pic. (thankfully not often) I am always afraid that the picture will bomb and there will be few if any captions.

Not sure what I will post this weekend but the pressure is already there :D . The last two pics, that I have posted have come from the same "old time" collection.... This week, well, let's wait and see!! ....Thanks for the added pressure! :D

For what it's worth, I reckon that the most successful photos in this competition have been ones that don't try too hard to be funny in themselves. A relatively ordinary photo can produce some very good captions, whereas an obviously 'funny ha ha' pic can often have a fairly limited range.

Not a very scientific analysis, just an overall impression.
