How are you accessing the Daily Mail from Thai servers? BB gave me a hint some weeks back and I never really tried again. I simply get the Gov green screen all the time.

Just did, and yes, not even close. :thumb:

Looks like the goal line has a slight furrow, could have been a lot closer otherwise

Here's the clip if you can't access the DM site.

Thanks...that worked. However.....the front edge of the ball looks over the line to me. How much of the ball needs to be over?

That's something to change if they're looking for things to change. There are a few sports with "any part" counts.

Why? It has to be more decisive than e.g. 50%

I don't see the need, Pete, it's simple enough as it is. If any part of the ball is touching the line, then it hasn't crossed it. Same in tennis, I think.

Yes, and no. It depends upon the rule in place. Off the top I can only think of the NFL and ice hockey at the moment, there must be a few others with the "any part" rule.

I'm not saying to change it, it just surprised me because for the life of me the 4 days of coaching school I went to back in the 80's didn't cover it to my memory, and I still remember most of the other stuff. That was a boy's and young teens league though and perhaps considered not an issue at that age/level.

It's never come up before now in our talks on here. Pete

It seems neither manager wants to play this match tonight. If that attitude has filtered down to the players it may not be good. Do you think we'll see some kind of protest?

Tickets already sold so it's $$$ for FIFA and others. Let's see if the place is full, or it's a bust. Pete

The stands are full, in fact people in the aisles, so nothing seems amiss. Let's hope for a good match. Pete

Well, more excitement in the opening 15 minutes than in the entire 120 mins of Holland's last game IMHO. Another error in refereeing with regards to the penalty, but where was the linesman?

And Christ..... during writing, the muppet Luiz drops another b*ll*ck. Why oh why oh why didn't I put 7 or 8 for Holland?

2-0 at the half. 2 yellow cards which is more than I've seen in any half. The ref seems to be calling a tight game, although some good acting by both teams. I've heard the commentators in past games saying the refs had been too loose, maybe this is a reaction to that.

All in all and enjoyable match to watch so far. The Brazilian fans are going through a lot of pain again though.
