Arrived in HH last month and not up to speed with all the sports bars as yet. Can anyone suggest a good one to watch the All Blacks/England game this Saturday night?
(also posted on the rugby thread but no replies as yet so posting here as well)
Sports bars to watch rugby
Re: Sports bars to watch rugby
el murphys in town will have it
Re: Sports bars to watch rugby
This maybe a bit out of the way but there's a new bar at the southern end of Kao Takieb, Captain Doug's which shows both PL and Rugby with sound. The owner Dougie (French/Canadian) has done a great job in renovating an old space. He has CTH in the main bar area and True in a smaller room - so you can watch England get beat by the AB's there. I was there last weekend at 1am watching Wales get beat (unfortunately) by S.A with Doug.

there is a new sports bar on poonsuk road near to the Temple, used to be O'Neills, they will have it,myself I will try Buckleys as this was a good bar to watch rugby, maybe I will have to put my flippers on though.

Re: Sports bars to watch rugby
Woosie, thanks a lot for referring me to Captain Doug's ... great viewing and a smart place. Will be back there for the AB's/Irish game next Saturday
Re: Sports bars to watch rugby
Glad it worked out KCOJ. It's a good place to watch the games and I will be in there for the 6 Nations next year.
Re: Sports bars to watch rugby
Yes, Buckley's around the corner from Limelight, which is next to El Murphy's, also show the rugby, Graham the owner is an Aussie and a good bloke. But I've taken to Capt. Doug's in Khao Takiab, so I can add my recommendation to that, great place if you live near there. Can't wait for the start of the 6 Nations and the Super 15, I'm getting rugby withdrawal and all the EPL is driving me nuts.
