Majestic Creek are pleased to announce that with effect from 1st October, we will be commencing a second competition each week to be held each Tuesday from October through until the end of April next year.
To make your bookings to play in either our thursday or tuesday competitions, please send an e-mail to the bookings address at <mjccompetition@gmail.com> stating which competition you prefer to play in.
We will make reservations on a first come first served basis, and you will be able to reserve your place on or after Wednesday each week, with a cut off time of Sunday midday. The e-mail address is the same for each competition and visitors are welcome to enter, as well as members. Proof of handicap will be required if you are not already a member of Majestic or one of the Hua Hin Golf Societies.
Our green fee for October has been reduced by 50% from our tariff of 2500 bht, to 1250 bht, plus caddie fee of 300 bht. We are also able to collect players from Hua Hin town, just phone our club house on 032-619-169.

Noticed that the driving range just over the hill on the pala u road just outside town appears to be open but when I drove past it looked like there were only nets on one side and at the end. Didn't get a good look or find anything when I searched using driving range. Has anyone been there lately.

Re: Hua Hin Golf Gossip
Someone told me it was open and looking okay, but they did mention that the balls are terrible.
Re: Hua Hin Golf Gossip
I went yesterday and the balls whilst newiash and clean and unmarked did seem to go some 10yds less, but adjusting for this the mats were great and the staff helpful - I would go there if it is convenient to you. They also have a good bunker for practice.heartofmidlothian wrote:Someone told me it was open and looking okay, but they did mention that the balls are terrible.
It does not matter where you come from, it's where you are going that matters.
Re: Hua Hin Golf Gossip
The way I play ten yards here does not make a lot of difference. Just looking for somewhere else local apart from Pae Mai or HH for a change (not that I dislike them, just checking out what is available). Bunker practice would do me good as well. Going to move up that way in the future and it will be the nearest range.

Played Kaeng Krachan today and it was real shame to see that the Lake 9 has been left to go to seed. Fairway grass knee high etc etc. That was a good 9. Apart from finances does anyone have any idea why?? I suppose I've answered my own question.
However, on a more positive note, the Mountain 9 was in excellent condition as always and a really good test of golf.
The Valley 9 isn't exactly easy either, especially the closing four holes. And that's in good condition also. For 1,300 THB it's a good day out with some serious golf and only an hour away.
Also played Sawang last week. I'd not been there for about 12 years. An excellent layout and in pretty good condition although some greens were a bit patchy and some fairways on the back 9 were a bit dry. Again, well worth the 1,300 THB we paid for a weekend rate as it was a public holiday that day. Normal midweek prices would have been 1,100 THB up until December 1st.

All green fee payers, members and visitors, who play at Majestic will have a chance of winning a Piaggio motorbike every month until February 2014. The bikes are all on display at the pro shop at Majestic.
Entry is simple, each time you play you get a "lucky draw " ticket, which you complete with your details and drop into the box. Then, at the month end, we do a public open draw for the winner. We have just had the draw for October and the lucky recipient was Jan Fredericksson, a visitor who had just played the course whilst here visiting friends in Hua Hin. The draw was done after the monthly medal competition, by the winner, Yngvar Rydland, and was overseen by Khun Thananchai, the owner, and David Baker of the Members' Committee, to ensure all was carried out correctly.
There will be another bike up for grabs at the end of November, and every time you play Majestic you will be given an entry ticket for free, and will have a chance to win one of these excellent bikes, so come and join us to be part of this month's lucky draw.

Anyone interested in seeing some up and coming potential stars of the future should take themselves along to Royal HH over the next few days.
The course is hosting the National Qualifying for the Thai Junior (under 18) Championship from today to Sunday (I'm pretty sure it's over 4 days for the boys and 3 for the girls - can't be 100% sure of the final day but it started today, the 7th).
A couple of weeks ago, I was at Sawang as another qualifying tournament was underway for the same Championship. That was qualifying for Petchaburi so this will be for Prachuabkirikhan. The tournament comes to a close with the best qualifiers from each province playing somewhere in Si Saket province next year.
Some of the youngsters at Sawang looked a bit decent to say the least. We were following the final female 3 ball. The girls were off the white tees as were we so it was easy to guage that they were hitting the ball as far or further than me!! Hence practice today 'cause I can't live with being outdriven by a 16 year old girlie!!
PS, HH range is closed all through the competition. I had to go to Tavimook instead.

Re: Hua Hin Golf Gossip
Good to see the Kings Cup coming to Black Mountain on 16 to 19 January. It is a 1 million dollar event with all the best Asian Tour pro's and I'm sure a few invited Scandinavian pro's. It is the final event of the 2013 season, even though it is in 2014.
There was a lot of discussion as to where this event was going to be played. There was even a strong rumour that it was going to be at Banyan, but apparently they decided that they didn't want it. Anyway, good news for Black Mountain and Hua Hin, to be able to showcase themselves again to the world, with live tv all 4 days. I am sure the course will look stunning and will further enhance their reputation as being the best course in Thailand.
I look forward to going along to watch and I am sure there will be a good turn out of the locals.

From what I have heard some majestic greens are in poor condition but I played Lakeview C & D last week and the greens were the best I have ever seen them, in particular C which were outstanding ( slightly firm, true and fast )heartofmidlothian wrote:Been away for a while and I was wondering how Majestic and Lakeview are looking?
