Thais believe the darker you are the more lower class you are that's why on building sites women are compleatly covered.
My wife is really dark but I also encoraged her to sunbathe a little, it's healthy.

Maybe Mr Plum you should be more conserned if they have an Adams Apple and if it was a Muslim wareing a head scalf that could be quite tricky to see.

Strangely enough, the Muslim girl I mentioned did and still does drink, as do most of here family, although none of them will do so in front of the older family members. She also eats pork, but again, not in front of the elders.

I am puzzled what made you decide that is what happened, why would he have gone through the passenger list?

Not so much a case of 'Why would he' more a case of 'How could he', even in Thailand manifests are not available to anyone without good reason, being a Police Officer is not reason enough.
I don't know of any airlines that include stated purpose of travel in the manifest, usually a manifest consists of your name, PNR, seat assignment, baggage numbers and optionally DOB and special requests.

For what it`s worth here in Tunisia women are only allowed to marry a non-Muslim if .he converts, this includes a test on his knowledge of the Koran and having the snip.

If I recollect correctly it was on the reverse side of the departure card, under 'purpose of visit'.
