I am new here

Post by Shirleyv »

Happy I have found a forum dedicated to HH , been 3 times, probably going back next year, stayed twice at the Anantara and once at the Centara. Been to Thailand 10 times, have been to most places, my favourite is Koh Chang . I am from Manchester , England , I have travelled a lot in the Far East , my favourite country is Cambodia.
I am hoping to perhaps twin hua hin with Siem reap next year..I am 50 years young and my favourite pastime is definitely travel.

Hi and welcome. It's interesting to hear that you enjoyed Cambodia. I felt exactly the same way, for reasons I can't explain. Siem Riep just had a feeling to it that I really liked, but being married with young kids, the visit was just that....a short visit. I haven't seen any other parts of the country, so I can't really comment. I've also learned during my life that there is a vast difference between living in and only visiting a country.

It's the same with all countries I guess. I lived in the UK for 10+ years, but that was up in Scotland, so even now I don't think I can offer a foreigner's view of the UK. It's the same here in Asia......a few weeks break in a country doesn't really paint a reliable picture.

Anyway, have a great time, and don't be afraid to share your experiences.

Cheers

Welcome Shirleyv. I'm on this forum because I will be retiring to HH area in a couple of years. The more info I can gather from members now, the easier the transition will be!
